April 12th, 2006 - First Oblivion Mod : [WIP] Arcane Intuition

Well, this is my first update in a long time.  Oblivion is out so I'm scrapping all of my old projects.  They were feasible, but my motivation to mod for Morrowind was killed about July of last year, when I became pretty sure that MWE was a dead in the water project.  As it turns out Cid88 still managed to encourage Aerelorn into making some useful new functions, so maybe I was in part wrong.  I'll be leaving most of the downloads up, just as a record of past work, but expect a few rennovations to the site - it needs some tidying up.  Regardless, Oblivion doesn't have as many limitations in modding as Morrowind had, so I'm more than pleased to work with it now.

My first [WIP] mod for Oblivion is a simple one - Arcane Intuition is going to be a set of skills for spellcasters.  I disliked how you had to join the mages guild in order to make your own spells, so I've decided to make a few alternatives that allow you to make your own spells.  For now, a working concept script effect spell is finished.  As it's set up you get to use a power, once per day, that will open the spell making menu, remove your cash, give you a stipend based upon your skill level, and allow you to make your own custom spells.  When you finish your original money is restored.  There is, however, one major drawback - you will not regenerate magicka for one full Oblivion day, or 2880 seconds.  I'm considering a few ways to role play the idea - for now I intend to do a birthsign.  I'm considering also quests (with a witches' coven, perhaps), items (a cursed phylactery of spellmaking), and maybe a new doomstone.  I'll have a demo file and instructions posted shortly, and I'll also be opening a WIP thread on the MWE Forums.
