This website is about my 00 gauge model railway. Do not expect a precise model of a real railway as you will find just a flight of fantasy. While my main interest nowadays is in the British Railways steam era I still have more knowledge (and literature) of American Railroads. So I will try to blend these two of my interests. Please take kind of my modest modelling efforts as I am a beginner and living in Austria I have no local support either by trade or local enthusiasts.
1957 TOMRAIL was founded to run lines that British Railways found impossible to make economically viable. TOMRAIL motive power and rolling stock uses ex BR material, still in the original livery. The locos are bought whenever the right power class is available cheaply. Steam will predominate as at the beginning TOMRAIL had limited funds only allowing the purchase of surplus BR steam engines.
