Disney's Fantasia

Walt Disney created Fantasia in 1940, with the hopes of popularizing Classical music.  The film, initially fails in cinemas, mainly die to the installation of “Fantasound “in the cinemas.  Fantasound was an early multi-channel sound system that was developed for Fantasia and Disney.  This sound system aloud for the first time, for sound to be heard all around the viewer and not just from one direction.  This technology eventually evolved into Surround Sound that is common today.

Included in this webpage is a analysis of five of the seven segments found in the film, and how religion and religious references can be found throughout each segment.  How the music relates to the animation seen, and what aspects of the story are portrayed.
