This is a base game from SPI that was developed in the early days of wargaming.

Technically, this is not a Tolkien game.  However, there are two scenarios that were developed by Scott  Rusch, originally published in Jadgpanther Magazine in 1974 (issues #7 and #8).  The two Tolkien scenarios are "Rohirrim!" and "Siege of Gondor".

The game represents medieval type warfare and matches well with battles from Middle Earth.
