Hello my name is Robert Zarco. I am 36 years old I’m married Barbara. We have been married for 2 years. We have to kids, Nicole and Tony. Nicole is 13 and Tony 18. Tony works with me in the phosphate mines, I have worked there for the last 10 years and he has been working there part time sense the age of 16. When Nicole gets home from school she cleans up the house it takes a couple hours to complete all the chores sense my wife Barbara is working in the cotton fields all day.
Work for Tony and I start at 10 in the morning and ends at 5 at night. Its hard working down in the phosphate mines, hard labor but anything to earn money for our family. Now Barbara she has to get up at 8 and make the family breakfast then she goes to the field around 9 she gets home around 2. I wished she didn’t have to work but were trying to earn some extra money for our family. Nicole goes to school at 9 and gets back from school around 3; we think she going to make it to college she will be the first in our family to go to college. Were so proud of her.
So working all day is hard, we think its temporary under our wise President Eyadema. He has been our president for the last 34 years. During the night time we eat dinner made by Nicole and Barbara they make some good food, and then be all sit and eat dinner and watch some television. We are a typical family in Togo we haven’t done much no one in are family has gone to college although that will change soon. My wife and I are happily married and of course we all support President Eyadema.
