Toby Creek Boer Goats

Toby Creek is a 12 acre wooded area that forms the Southern border of our farm.  It is named in honor of our family matriarch Margaret "Toby" Simmons.Toby got her name from her youngest grandson when he was three, and it stuck.  Everyone who loved her called her Toby.  We know that she is looking down and blessing us everyday.  Her spirit is alive in the creek where we all went mushroom hunting as kids and the farm she founded.  The farm has been home to dairy, pigs, beef cattle, sheep among other critters, as well as three generations of 4-H members.

In 2005 we discovered, quite by accident, a love for boer goats that is as contagious as the boundless energy of those kids (both the goat kids and our human ones).  While our herd is young, its bloodlines are proud, with breeding stock that traces back to the biggest names in the industry.  Pistolero, Maul Painted Warrior,  Eggsfile and Kaptein can be found in the pedigrees of our foundation buck and does.

As a 4-H family, we are striving to put kids on the ground that can compete in the show ring or can thrive in a commercial herd.  Take a look at our albums, we  think you'll agree that our herd is off to a promising start.
