Toadhead's Development Homepage
Welcome to my Nintendo DS homepage. As you probably already know, the Nintendo DS is a gameing device made by Nintendo (www.nintendo.nl). It has 2 screens (the bottom screen is touch sensitive), a microphone, surround sound, backlight on both screens and much more features.
I'm programming for about 1.5 years now and I decided to do some homebrew development for the Nintendo DS. Homebrew development means that developers like me create programs for the Nintendo DS without being an official Nintendo DS developer.
There is one major problem to execute homebrew games. To play homebrew software you'll need a "flash cart". A flash cart is just a simple cartridge that let's you write programs on that cartridge using some tools like a linker. To play homebrew DS programs you'll need a GBA flash cart, a linker and a Passme. A Passme is a device that lets you play NDS files on a GBA flash cart. You do the passme in the DS slot and the GBA cartridge with the NDS file and a .NDS.GBA file in your GBA slot and you should be able to execute the NDS program. Were can you get this? A good package is the NeoFlash package that contains all stuff you need. Check out www.NeoFlash.com for more information.
