The Tahlequah Native American
Flute Circle is free and open to anyone who makes, plays, studies, or
is interested in the Native American Flute.. Our goal is educate and
showcase our members, as well as, educating the public about the Native
American Flute and it's historical and contemporary signifance.
Our
group is made up of guests from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and
Texas. Our agenda varies from month to month leaving room for anyone to
come to our flute circle and present or just share their knowledge
and/or flutes with our group.

Our flute circle is a volunteer program of the Cherokee Heritage Center
and
anyone is welcome to attend! If you would like more information about

If you have an idea for a flute circle
agenda or discussion please email us. If you would like to do a
presentation or demonstration contact us with your idea so we can give
you all the time you need. We appreciate any ideas or comments you have
for or about our group.
Snacks
The food
for the meeting is potluck, so we encourage you to bring a snack or
treat! Please remember that anything you eat at a flute circle may end
up inside of your flute if you play afterwards, so you may want to
bring something to drink to wash down the food.

Logo
The
designer of our logo, Mickel Yantz, is an
Oklahoma based artist and
museum curator. The pattern surrounding the flutes is called
"four
directions." It is a traditional design found and used on
Woodlands Native Culture Art in the southeastern part of the United
