"Fireflies, Moonlight and All That Jazz"

An illustration of lyrical expression that caresses the soul.

Consuming Fear

Awakened with a start

by the cold hand of fear

sweat pours from a body

that lays beneath a comforter

that doesn't comfort

Eyes dart back and forth

searching for dangers

or spooks that are

conjured up by

an over-active imagination

The heart races,

caught within the throat,

in a battle between

beating or stopping

as anxiety overtakes

Minutes pass,

a calmness returns,

embarrassment settles upon

the weary soul

until sleep

once again consumes

Waiting For the Echo

Whispers shout

more than screams,

I can hear you,

just say the words

In dreams or wakefulness,

I can see you,

just say the words

Pain filled or pleasure intense,

I am here,

just say the words

Dark of night, light of dawn

feel me,

just say the words

From the beginning,

till the end of forever,

I say the words

Three words

that’s all I ask,

as I continue

waiting for the echo

Expectations Fulfilled

Dance of danger

sparks ignite;

blowing winds

in the dark of night

Flames intense

heated passion;

wanton intent

in an alluring fashion

Irrational but irresistible

explosive desire;

sensuous need

takes us higher

Love of blue

flashes pure and white;

eyes twinkle

starry delight

Expectations fulfilled

sated beyond;

languorous dreams

completing our bond
