Author’s Guide:
How to submit a fanfic the right way.
As you know by now, we got no time to read all
your fics and decide if they’re worthy enough to become a part of
our archives: we have no control over your submissions; you can
upload any Matrix text you want to our site and that means that we
TRUST in you.
While building the
Authors’ Index, we sadly realized that several people submit their
fics the wrong way. That’s why we’re setting a few rules from now on
to make it clear enough for everyone.
Basic Rules:
-
At the very beginning of
this site we wanted to create a high-quality Matrix archive, and
that’s still the primary idea underneath it all. Please, submit only
those fics you consider good enough to be a part of this site. If
you are unsure about your texts or if you have doubts about its
quality, use the WIP-and-beta board and ask our members for their
opinions.
-
Guests are not allowed
to submit their fics. Since the archives are placed in our message
board, only registered users can publish their texts.
-
Only submit complete
works. If you are caught adding chapters to your story it will be
moved to the WIP-and-beta board without any previous warnings.
-
Please don’t submit a
fic to the archives if you’re looking for opinions on how to improve
it. The archives were designed the way they are for you to get
reviews. Opinions on how to improve texts remark the fact that you
have doubts about it and that the fic can still go through some
changes so please set it on the WIP-an-beta board.
-
Copy and paste or type
your fic in the text field. External links are no longer accepted.
(For instance, linking to the fanfiction.net location where your fic
is placed). We’re going to delete this kind of posts if necessary.
-
Nicknames: if you submit
a fic to the archives, your nickname on the Authors’ Index will be
the one you use on the message board; it doesn’t matter if your
fanfiction.net account has a different nickname. Also, if you ever
change your user name in the boards please notify the admins to also
change it in the Author’s Index. (Only in case you are already part
of the Authors’ Index, of course.)
-
Before posting your fic,
please make sure is free of typos and grammar mistakes.
Submissions- step by step:
-
Once you’ve posted a fic
in The Archives, please head over to the “Monthly Updates” section
of the boards.
-
Open the thread
regarding to the current month submissions and reply with this
information about your fic: Author, Title, Rating, Category-ies,
Summary, URL.
For example:
“April
Bubmissions” – Reply:
Author: ZeldaDragon
Title: Ego Boots
Category: Humor
Rating: PG
Summary: Sparks
sure loves his practical jokes...
URL:
http://tlgf.suddenlaunch3.com/index.cgi?board=Humor&action=display&num=1150737011
-
If the thread is locked,
that means we’re no longer accepting fics for that month’s update.
Feel free to open a new thread for next month.
-
If any of those elements
is missing, your fic WON’T get into the Author’s Index.
Categories:
-
We have all these
categories: Adult, Agent, Drama, Romance, Action, Humor, AU
(alternative universe), OC (original character) and Crossover. You
can choose more than one to describe your fic.

audience.
