APRIL 2012
New vans, new info, new pictures.
Replica Vans
A-Team Auto's have trawled the world, (well the World Wide Web anyway!) to bring you the best(and worst) replica vans we could find.
I have spent a lot of time trying to get all the facts right, and try my best to verify every van I find, however this is not possible with every van, so if I have made a mistake please let me know so I can rectumfy it. If you own a van on this site and have some better pictures please email me. I get lots of emails with pictures and information and I do try to give everyone a name check, but if for some reason you’ve been missed out just let me know.
a-teamautos.co.uk is an independent website, we are not connected to any of the vans or links shown on this site. We don't have any vans for hire and not all the vans on this site are available for hire.
If you wish to hire a van please follow the links provided and say you saw them on a-teamautos. Some of the website names are very similar so please check carefully when you follow a link.
80stvcarhire.co.uk
This van belongs to Steve from Luton, and was one of the first replica vans for hire. You may have noticed it in the BBC TV series Little Britain and also in the Comic Relief/BBC Radio 1 Red Nose Rally, in which it toured the UK with a host of other famous cars raising cash for charity. More recently it was featured on This Morning at the A-team movie premier. The vans owner also has a GMC Fall Guy truck and a General Lee Dodge Charger.
You can find out more by visiting the website.

This van was sent in by it's owner Jamie, he says: here are some pictures of my A-team van.
Prior to the build it was a brown and beige 1983 GMC Vandura 2500 day van, with windows in the back which we had welded up.
Jamie obviously did a good job because the van looks great.

Toby’s Van
My van! I know it's not perfect but I love it anyway I have most of the parts for the exterior but I just need to get them on the van.
It needs some work doing to the engine and inside the van needs to be emptied, but I know that with a little bit of TLC it will turn out ok.

George Barris Van
This van has been for sale on ebay a few times now, originally the owner had claimed it was "an original and authentic vehicle built by revered film and custom car creator George Barris for the TV series and not a copy."
In the most recent listing it's now claimed to be a promotional vehicle bulit by Barris and "supplied unregistered directly to Universal studios during the last year of production of the A Team.
The TV series finished in 1987, although this van is a 1988 model with lots of discrepancies including, side mouldings rather than running boards, incorrect bullbars, no sunroof and missing spot lights, which the owner puts down to the van having been "Restored over the years".
George Barris designed many famous TV & Movie cars, Barris' company often builds replicas of (but did not design) vehicles from other TV series, including The A-Team, Knight Rider, and the Munsters. Barris Kustom Industries often sells these cars at auction for high sums. Universal Studios issued a cease and desist order against Barris for taking credit for the Back to the Future car in May 2007.
Visit his website and see what you think.

Stevens Van
This van belongs to Steven who lives on the Isle Of Man and this is the first replica on the island.
Steven has a brilliant forum called Replicars, which is a great source of info if you’re thinking of building a replica.
Replicars isn't just about A-team replicas it also includes Starsky and Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider and other TV/Movie car replicas as well.
Replicars is simply a great place to go if you need help with a TV/Movie replica and is full of people who own replica vehicles and have first hand knowledge of building them. From first timers who are just beginning projects, to people who have completed them and help to give motivation to those who are just starting out.
I strongly recommend this forum, not only because I'm a member but because it's a fun filled factual forum! Replicars

Kelderman Air Ride Van
This van was built to demonstrate the products that Kelderman sell, mainly air lift suspensions.
Reuben’s Van
This van’s rather interesting, it was sent to me from the owner’s Dad, Rob, who said, “my son Reuben recently won the van which Fox Media used to promote DVD sales in the UK. Before that it was owned by Star Car Hire. It's a bit hybrid in appearance now as they must have sprayed the top half black to look more like the van in the film, but it retains running boards and Red wheels from the TV show, Reg doc says Black and Grey, so I'm pretty sure it once had gunmetal above the line. It has a 5L V8 Chevy engine, and is done out internally as a limo seating driver plus 6, with DVD, Flat Screen tv and ace stereo, plus LED lighting.”
He also said that the van was for sale, “We're told that Fox paid £25K for it, so are starting at £20K but open to offers.” Email robsymons@btinternet.com

This van will be well known to many people in The UK, Europe and Austrailia. The Bedford CF was a popular van made by Bedford Vehicles from the late 60s to the late 80s. In Europe it was sold through Opel cars as the Bedford Blitz.
Bedford was a subsidiary of Vauxhall, which along with Opel was owned by General Motors.

Useful Links
Here are a few links that I’ve found useful over the years most are places that sell parts/accessories for replica vans others are just useful places to find an answer. I do not recommend or endorse any of these websites they are here for your information only.
Replicar Forum
Replicar forum is a great place to visit if you are building a replica or just a fan of the a-team. Replicar cover most TV/Movie vehicles but also has a great section on the a-team.
BK Auto
BK Auto are a US company that build replica TV/Movie vehicles and also sell every part you could ever want. The prices can be quite high, especially if you want them shipped to the UK, but they seem to be very good quality. You might want to check them out before buying though.
American Auto Barn UK
American Auto Barn UK are based in southern England and sell a wide range of accessories for a variety of US vehicles. The site can be a bit awkward to find your way around but you will find a good selection of US van parts.
Chucks Chevy Truck Pages
From deciphering VIN#'s to wiring diagrams and a whole heap of technical stuff this site has it all. although mainly for Chevy/GMC trucks, but a lot of it still applies to Vans.
www.trucknvans.com
Not to be confused with trucknvan.com this site has everything you will need to build a replica a-team van.
They sell engine parts as well as exterior parts and this site is well worth a look.
Wikianswers
This q&a site has loads of useful stuff, from replacing a fuse to rebuilding an engine, this site has it all.
a-teamautos.co.uk is a independent site and is not connected to any website we have linked to.
Thank you for visiting A-team autos.
