rules

These are the very few and brief rules that must be followed when nominating a story for an award on the site.

- Stories must be hosted on FictionPress.Com. This is not negotiable, as this is an awards site for FictionPress stories.
- Follow the Category Rules. Each category has it's own set of rules, so please follow those. For example, don't nominate a two-chapter story in the "Best Saga" Category.
- All stories must be in English. Absolutely no exceptions, as I can only read English.
- Stories can't be re-nominated. After a story has won an award in one round/category, it can't be nominated again. However a story that didn't win an award may be nominated again after the next round has been completed. This is to make sure that new stories are always coming through the site.
- Do not nominate yourself. What would be the point in being recognised by other readers if you're nominating yourself? Please don't do it.
- All stories must be original. Which is the reason that they're hosted on FictionPress. However, if someone has "ripped off" your story, please contact the staff and the stories will be compared and a decision will be made as to whether or not take down the story.
- "Work In Progress"/Completed stories can't be nominated in all categories. Check under each category to see if there is any specification about what type of story is allowed, if it's not specified it allows both.
- Stories must have a high standard. If the story doesn't have proper grammar, decent spelling and correct punctuation it will not be accepted.
- Each category has exceptions attached. Under some categories there is a genre/sub-genre listed, but if the story fits the category, but perhaps not the genre/sub-genre, then it can still be considered for the category.
- Respect the site and the authors. You will be banned from the site if you cause any trouble.
