Trerosewill Farm

If you are visiting Cornwall, BOSCASTLE is a place well worth seeing, and this is where you will find Trerosewill Farm. .....situated at the top of the village, in a most enviable position.....quiet with a fantastic view of fields and also the sea.

Boscastle is on the North Cornwall coast, about 13 miles from Bude and 6 miles from Tintagel. Then inland, there are the towns of Camelford, 8 miles away and Wadebridge 15 miles away.

In August 2004, Boscastle was hit by floods, which destroyed and damaged many old buildings, and people lost many possessions, but fortunately, no lives were lost.

With a Tourism rating of

5 DIAMONDS plus a SILVER AWARD, it will probably be hard to find anywhere better to stay, than here at Trerosewill Farm.

An excellent breakfast choice is available.....served in the conservatory.

Start with fruit juice, with cereals, prunes, apricots or tin grapefruit.

The full English breakfast of 2 pieces of bacon, a sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and a slice of hogs pudding, with toast and tea or coffee is quite filling and good. Other options may be ordered, as well as a Continental too.

See the website for full details at:-

All the rooms are double ensuite, one being a twin room, which is the one we stayed in.

Not a large room, but big enough for two small easy chairs, as well as a wardrobe and a dresser, under which was a fridge, well stocked with soft and alcholic drinks.

Beds were comfortable, and all facilities expected of a 5 diamond establishment were in the room....hairdryer, shoe brushes, clothes brush, TV with a video recorder, clock radio CD player, bath robes, cotton buds, cotton wool, shampoo and shower gel in small bottles, first aid kit (but only one plaster and one saline capsule left!).

The ensuite shower room (no bath) was rather small, but sufficient, with good quality Christy towels.

The beverage tray was very well stocked, with fresh milk in a flask, and included free mineral water plus biscuits.

On the landing, was a library of videos and books, free to borrow.

Also, in the room, there were a selection of magazines and an info folder, plus a video with some local info too.  A blank tape was also provided if you wish to tape any TV programmes.....mind you, it might have taken a while to work out how to tape, as no instructions were available, and it took us a while to fathom out how to work the remote control!!!

The lounge was very comfortable and roomy, and was available to use for the TV or quiet reading etc.

Being November, on our visit, the wood burner was lit, to keep it nice and warm.

Normally, Trerosewill is closed during the winter months, but business suffered a bit after the tragic floods of August 2004, so the doors have been kept open for longer this year.(2005)

Trerosewill is a working farm, but it was too muddy(needed wellies!), (AND too cold!!),to get to see many of the animals, but in the summer, it will no doubt be a wonderful place to explore.

This accomodation is really TIP TOP, as I've tried and tested it, and if you are going to this area of Cornwall, this is the place to stay.   A well deserved Silver Award.
