JEREMIAH GRIFFEY

Oceanside resident and frequenter of the Casbah, the Che and the Glass House, Jeremiah Griffey started taking pictures in August of 2004 when he realized he didn't know any photographers (especially ones that would work for free) and needed pictures of the bands he was covering for www.auralminority.com.

A former daily reporter for small papers in upstate NY, Jeremiah first love is writing—although he's becoming more and more enamored with the visual arts as well. Over the course of his amateur and professional career he's interviewed the likes of Hilary Clinton, Jon Stewart, Marky Ramone, Ian MacKaye, Lou Barlow, Har Mar Superstar and that ventriloquist comedian with the jalapeño…on a stick.

Jeremiah's love of music began to emerge when his father stuck him in front of a radio because he didn't like to hear him cry or make noise of any kind as a baby. Weaned on '80s "classics" and the horrible Michael Bolton his mother made him listen to growing up, Jeremiah is sad to say that Guns 'N' Roses changed his life. His mother has since started listening to country.

College forced Jeremiah to dig a little deeper into music, and eventually he discovered the underground (by way of Brit Pop and Grunge). His ever-evolving tastes can be chronicled on the aforementioned website he created with a few art and journalism pals.

Jeremiah would like to thank Jen and her parents, his parents, K8 and Kill Me Tomorrow, the www.auralminority.com crew, the fans at the Casbah for putting up with my flash and all the bands and labels and PR folk who've allowed these photos to happen. Oh, and Les Savy Fav, TV on the Radio, These Arms are Snakes, The Dresden Dolls, Xiu Xiu, Arcade Fire, The Mars Volta/At the Drive-in, Des_Ark and Murder By Death for making music that keeps his mind both at ease and working.

CHRIS CAVALLO

Chris Cavallo was born and raised in upstate New York, just outside of Buffalo; in 1992 his family moved to Southern California. It was here his interest in the arts flourished. He would go on to graduate from California State University Fullerton with a degree in Studio Art, focusing mainly on painting and drawing. However, while there he would also pursue a degree in American Studies, during which he met Jeremiah Griffey.

After graduating from college Chris spent a year as a Life Skills Coach, working with special needs students. Realizing he wasn't following his destined path, he left that field and embraced the opportunity to work with Jeremiah and several other writers and bright souls founding Aural Minority (www.auralminority.com). Chris currently resides in Lake Forest, CA, and works closely with Jeremiah Griffey to craft Aural Minority's photographs. He continues to paint, even selling an odd piece now and again.

He is ever thankful to Jeremiah and the Aural Minority crew for the opportunity to experiment and embrace the world of photography, especially through their eyes, that they allow him to partner in that creative process is a blessing. He is also thankful that his friends and family support that artistic struggle, and for all the bands, that they allow and encourage the taking of their pictures, without them it would be naught but boring walls and floors, and quiet ones at that.
