JEFF WINTERBERG

born 1970. Summit, New Jersey.

Jeff Winterberg is a photographer currently living in Brooklyn, NY. He began shooting bands while living in San Diego in the very early nineties purely as a hobby and a selfish way to document the music of the time. He still has yet to learn how to properly use a flash and a light meter. Non-photo related activities have included bands such as Antioch Arrow, False Island and currently a quasi-improv mess called Coptic Light. Exhibitions have included groups shows at 96 Gillespie in London and Clementine Gallery in New York, both as part of shows curated by Rich Jacobs. Also a solo show at Riviera Gallery in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of his book, Rat-a-tat-tat birds. It was published by Volumeone and includes lots of under-documented music from San Diego's early nineties. Info can be found here:
