My photographic history:
I've been creating photography ever since I was a little kid when my mom gave me a little 110 camera. However, I will not speak of those photos. I received my first 35mm point and shoot awhile later, didn't do much with that really. A couple random pictures of friends, a couple photos that looked good through the viewfinder, but didn't turn out good because I didn't know anything about photography. I guess I got interested in photography in 2000, after I got a Sony Digital Mavica FD something. That camera was damn awful, but I managed to take a couple thousand pictures with it. Some pictures were good, but most weren't. I'm not going to post any of those pictures either, just because the quality of that camera was so bad (640x480 and grainy as hell -- unless the flash was used. Still bad though.) I got my first SLR camera in 2002 and also took a class in photography, taught by Paul Turounet, who was a great teacher. After finally figuring out what I was doing with a camera I got a bit better. The next semester I took some digital photography classes with Suda House, who was another awesome teacher. Although I didn't learn too much on the digital side (since I knew so much photoshop & digital cameras/scanners by then), the classes did push to make some good images. Also the digital classes introduced me to a service bureau, got me in touch with other good photographers, and taught me a bit more about how things work in the real world (off the computer) of digital media. Then in 2004 I moved to the East Bay and my photographic style turned mostly into the photo journalistic style. I attended another photography class with Scott Hopkins, although once again, I knew most of everything that was taught in the class by the time I took it. Still though, Scott was a great teacher and he introduced me to the work of many other photographers and also gave good critiques of my work.
Currently most my photography consists of more photo journalistic endeavors (protests and street photography). I still love shooting band photography as well though. Most of my band photography is shot at small venues of bands that aren't very popular in the mainstream, but to me the bands have a lot more personality and expression than many mainstream bands. Then again, I've never really been a fan of rockstars.
