In Curtain Folds

7 syl poem

how long have I been sitting
as stars fly by overhead
to wait and watch for your word
to say that you are coming
to come and then to set loose
all that my heart most desires
to put it in a small box
to lock and hold and protect
the feelings my heart portreys
those which go against my soul
and to watch as time flies by
just a storm, in curtain folds.
a flood, a fire, tornado
but the raging winds do pass
to taunt and tease: ridicule
what I place, in curtain folds.
These folds they hide my feelings
and so, they protect my heart
I swear, as same stars fly by,
to watch, to learn, to listen
to curtain folds in my heart.
