As Emma flees the town where she has spent almost a year picking pockets in, she unknowingly crosses the border into a different world. Now, with a group of strangers she is forced to trust, Emma must help rid the world she is in of a tyrant if she ever hopes to go home. But as her role to play grows larger, Emma begins to realize that she doesn't want to leave - but with an evil being just inches away from having a book older than time itself that could enable him to enslave the entire of the world she has grown to love in an instant, there may not be much left to stay for.
