Koda is an irrepressible bear cub, who jabbers a mile a minute and never sits still. He is outgoing and always has a story to tell or a friend to make. Our story finds Koda on a mission to rejoin his mother at the annual bear family reunion at the Salmon Run. Along the way, he joins up with Kenai and their two journeys become one. As they travel together, Koda becpomes Kenai's guide and companion, helping Kenai understand what the bear world is all about. | |

Kenai, the youngest of three brothers, races through life in high gear, anxious to prove himself a man to the older two. Kenai is magically transformed into a bear by the Great Spirits in order to teach him a valuable lesson about love and brotherhood. Walking on all fours, he must make a journey to 'where the lights touch the earth' in order to regain his human form.

Rutt and Tuke are arguably the most dim-witted and funniest brothers in the whole Northen Territory. Lazily spending their days eating, sleeping, and one-upping each other, these two moose are among the first talking animals Kenai encounters as a bear. Rutt and Tuke join Kenai and Koda's journey, seeking Kenai's protection from the hunter (Denahi) who they believe is after them. |

Strong of mind and body. Kenai's eldest brother is the glue that holds their small family together. Wise, even-tempered and always the peacekeeper, Sitka's path in life - and beyond - is to guide his brothers so that they fulfill their destiny and achieve manhood in the eyes of the Great Spirits.

Like most middle brothers, Denahi is not as mature as his older brother but a lot more responsible than his younger one. He looks for every occasion to tease and taunt Kenai. But, his passionate loyalty to both is unquestioned and when catatsrophe strikes his brothers, Denahi vows to avenge them at all costs. | |
