Chris Kerr Racing

This page is devoted to Chris's basic racing history. Where he has raced and different things he has accomplished.

 Over the 9 year period from the 1992 season till the 2000 season Chris competed as a youth Speedway rider, on machines including a Triumph Tiger Cub, a Honda 200 and finally a Weslake 250.

In mid 2000 season, at the age of 16 he started competing on a full size machine in the Northern California Division 2. By the end of the season he had won 4 division 2 main wins and won the Division 2 Auburn Track Championship. From the start of the 2001 season Chris rode division 1 against America’s top Speedway riders. The regular format for American Speedway does not involve point scoring. Although every week is an individual competition, it works on qualification from a heat to a semi-final, then on to the main event rather than on points. Therefore the only method to measure success is main event appearances.

In 2004 Chris qualified for 2 main events at Auburn and one at Costa Mesa.

In 2005 Chris qualified for 4 main events at Auburn and 6 at Costa Mesa.

Chris has competed in the Auburn Track Championship division 1 every year from 2001, with improved results each year.

Chris has competed in the AMA National Championship (Auburn) every year, and the US National Championship (Costa Mesa) in 2005.

In 2005 Chris was selected to represent the USA in the Under 21 World Championship. He qualified from the quarter-final in Pardubice, Czech Republic but missed qualifying from the semi-final in Lonigo, Italy.

In 2005 he was a member of the “USA Dream Team” which toured the UK to compete with Conference League teams. Chris was the highest overall points scorer for the US team. As well as experience riding the UK tracks and assimilating the UK culture, Chris established a number of useful personal connections during this trip. 

For 2006 there is a plan for another USA Dream Team Tour. During the late 2005 season a 4 team championship took place over 4 weekends to develop riders’ skills with team riding and select riders for the 2006 tour. Chris finished the series with the highest average.
