Wreck Fishing offers great sport around our uk waters, Lure fishing with a Dexter wedge 100 - 150 ft of water on light tackle must be near the top for Sport Fishing. Dexter wedge lures vary in weight, light end 16 grams right up to 200 grams, we tend to use 60 grams - 150 gram Dexters anglingcentre 30 lb braid up-tide casting, let your lure hit the bottom then wind in fast fifteen - seventeen turns, if the tidal flow is five knots and above after you hit your fifteen fast turns or so, stop winding in and hold your wedge just as if you are trolling for five to ten seconds, this is where we find the Bass tends to hit, do not strike just wind into the fish, adjust your reel drag, if it's a big bass stop it from diving for the wreck, once you are clear relax and enjoy the fight.

Inshore Wreck Fishing Devon 26 March 2008
First day this year out on the boat wreck fishing off Seaton Devon, so good to see the shore line dwindle away. Shipping forecast was giving smooth to moderate, wind 3-4 north westerly, perfect weather for Pollack and possibly Bass. Fishing Tackle comprised of two rods, Trophy Tamer south bend for shads coupled with a Leeda Piranha Spinning Rod. I love the Trophy Tamar for it's light weight yet incredible strength, my 10' 6" Leeda spinning rod offers comfort when those big Bass hit and shake to throw your hook. Shads proved favourite on the day, as the pollack rolled in sprat where their feed, knowing what the diet was helped our shad choice - small & white. Dexter wedges had some success on the day attracting smaller pollack 3 - 4 lb but shads hooked fish to a weight of 12lb. No Bass caught on the day, still early in the season.
