REGISTER TO VOTE
Voting is an essential part of democracy. It is every American citizen’s fundamental right to be able to voice their opinion and take part in electing public officials. By voting, people take a stand and help decide who represents them and how their government works. Also, citizens not only have rights, but with these rights come responsibilities. Citizenship means participating in the political process by being an informed and active member of society.
Today, teenagers are registering to vote in rapid numbers. As teenage involvement in politics skyrockets we can clearly see a new generation of effective leaders being born. However, about half of the population votes for president; which is an appalling figure for such a thriving democracy like ours. Government is about participation and debate, now let our voices be heard! And for those college students who won't be in town for the election, you can fill out an absentee ballot!
