We now see more and more in the press regarding the need to charge drivers to use the roads because there is no room for them (to ease congestion) so why for the last few years have we seen our two lane roads Blackpool - Preston. Warton - Lytham reduced too one lane, is this not a little confusing if not dangerous, I personally have had a couple of near misses from cars overtaking and coming head on towards me, (I have had to take aversive action to avoid collision).
Is it Lancs. county council saying we have the money lets waste it, I know says the little voice in the corner (jobs worth) lets reduce the number of lanes from two to one, it will be easier to count.

Dear Mr C,
Thanks for your point of view - it is a
valid point ,and is now on the web page, I have not put your email address on it
to give you some privacy.
I am fed up with Lancashire messing up
the roads for the motorist, the speed restrictions are just an easy way to boost
their coffers. Having a 50 miles an hour of duel carriageways causes
frustration, and people in this area are becoming so afraid of being caught
speeding tend to drive at 20-30mph in a 40mph area.
A good example of what happens due to silly spped limits, the road from Kirkham via Ribby Hall to Lytham show what happens when drivers finally see the sign for national speed limits (up to the dizzy speed of 60m.p.h) - it results in the poor wall getting crashed into too many times. I feel sorry for the owner of that wall who must be fed up with fixing it up yet again.
I also think that the roadwork near the
junction that you mention is asking for another accident. Coming from Preston,
it is still a duel lane, but unless you know what is ahead, it is too easy to
drive in the wrong lane and end up going towards Warton, as due to the traffic,
it can be difficult to change the lane at the last moment to go past
Kirkham.
I am sorry to hear about your near
misses, I've had a few too as some of the drivers around here are basket weaving
cases.
Maybe the theory is right, channelling
the traffic into a lane, but there is not enough information. I think it's just
a **** factor, as that has made that area a bigger blackspot than it was before
they let the men in yellow coats loose.
I think we can both say "I told you so"
when there's another horrific death on the road.
Yours aye,
P O V
