Before I go into detail, I want you to watch this YouTube video. Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate that I've EVER wanted! He may be old, but he's wise. He's a Constitutionalist. If you will TRULY listen to this video, then I PROMISE that you will begin to see what is happening to our country and to some of our rights. Now, PLEASE, TRULY listen and understand it:
Did you truly understand what that meant? You soon will (if you didn't) if you keep reading. The Constitution is a document which are Founding Fathers wrote so our rights would be kept safe. They wrote it so we could be free. They fought for it and they got it. Now, the government is taking away those rights. We can't let them! We can't give up so easily. After this lesson you should begin to know and realize our rights, what the Constitution is, etc.
The United States of America Shall be a Republic.
This principle is highlighted in the Pledge of Allegiance when it says:
I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States of America
And to the Republic
For which it [the flag] stands...
Hmmm... I wonder why we don't pledge to a democracy instead of a republic?
Example: Who here has a dollar?
~someone stands up.
Ok, (name three other people to stand up). Do you think it's fair that ____ has a dollar and you don't?
~shakes heads
Would you guys like to have that dollar?
~nods
Ok, let's vote. Who here wants ____'s dollar?
~raises hands
Ok, ____ that dollar is now ours.
That is an example of a democracy. So, the definition of democracy is basically:
Majority rules and the minority has no rights.
"Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos."
Which is true like what we observed.
Here's a quote from John Adams who was one of our Founding Fathers:
"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders iteself. There never was a democracy that did not commit suicide.
So, what is a republic?
What is rule of law?
The U.S. is a Constitutional Republic which means that we follow the Constitution. The Constitution is a body of laws which protects our natural, God given rights or unalienable rights.
What are unalienable rights?
The main ones are
The purpose of government is to protect these rights.
Under a Constitutional Republic, it would've been illegal, under the rule of law, to take away ____'s dollar. In a Democracy, it would be perfectly acceptable. Are you beginning to see the difference?
