The Trend Group was founded in 2002 by George True and Ian McCartney. It was founded in Phoenix, Arizona as an Arizona Limited Liability Corporation. The Trend Group was founded for the purpose of bringing together like-minded individuals possessing a deep and abiding love for God, a burning desire to become financially free through private entrepreneurship and investment, and a passion for helping one's fellow man. It is the dream of the Founders to help thousands of individuals to become prosperous so that they may wisely and powerfully use their new-found wealth in the service of God and mankind.

George True is the owner of George True & Associates, an independent firm specializing in estate planning and tax-deferred investments. In recent years, George has specialized in estate and investment planning for retirees and those approaching retirement. In January of 2004, George earned the prestigious title of Certified Senior Advisor awarded by the American Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
George is a lifelong athlete and outdoorsman. He was a nationally-ranked canoeist for many years, winning both United States Canoe Association and American Canoe Association titles in both flatwater and whitewater competition.
George has also been an avid rock-climber and mountaineer since the age of 17. He has climbed noteworthy peaks all over North America, and has also climbed major high-altitude peaks in the Andes of South America. George will be part of a small expedition to the Himalayas in October 2004 that will attempt several 7000 meter peaks on the border of Nepal and Tibet.
Several years ago, while in his mid-forties, George realized his lifelong dream of becoming a private pilot. He is currently working on his instrument rating, and through option trading, anticipates that he will realize his dream of aircraft ownership in the very near future.
One of George's motivations for becoming proficient in option trading was to create enough wealth and ongoing passive income that he could afford to spend a lot more time canoeing, climbing, and flying. His second and greater motivation was to create enough personal wealth to massively help his church and its ministry, and to help other like-minded individuals achieve their dreams and accomplish their purpose in life.

Ian McCartney is a native of Montreal, Canada, but has lived most of his life in the United States. He holds dual U.S./Canadian citizenship and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona. Ian has had careers in finance and investment, real estate, and insurance spanning almost fifty years.
For Ian's first career, he was a stockbroker in New York with one of the most prestigious Wall Street firms for almost twenty years. He subsequently moved to Ft Lauderdale, Florida and started a second career as a real estate broker. His firm handled a number of large real estate development projects during the years that he spent there. Ian's third career started after he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he was a successful independent insurance broker.
Ian discovered a love of deep sea fishing during the years he spent in Florida. He returns to Florida at least once a year to fish, and he is planning several deep sea fishing trips to Mexico and the Pacific Northwest in 2004 and 2005. Ian's other hobby is aviation. He is currently a student pilot working towards his private pilot's license. In the meantime, he enjoys flying 'right seat' with other pilots every chance he gets.
Ian came out of retirement two years ago to co-found The Trend Group. He did so because of his passionate belief that by helping others we ultimately reap the highest rewards for ourselves. While there are many books, courses, and seminars on becoming wealthy through various forms of investing, Ian feels most of them are missing a critical ingredient. That is, they are missing the knowledge of how to properly apply the information. Ian says, "Knowledge by itself is not power. Rather, knowledge received and then properly applied is power."
