I often wonder why many Muslims, NOT to many American Muslims but many foreign Muslims ask for a discount from Muslims Vendors who sell Islamic Items, We (Vendors) do not receive a discount when we purchase our merchandise at wholesale rates, or hand make items, many of us purchase from overseas we must pay for customs, U.S. taxes, embargo taxes, shipping and handling fees and now of course with the oil and gas increase, by the time the items get to us.. we barely make a profit and this is our livilyhood.
They explain that in their country they can get certain items for $5-$20 but do they consider the expenses we encounter when we purchase these items.
Do they go to Walmart, JC Penny, Target, Saks5th Ave and ask for a discount? Do they think that because we sell on the street or at conventions that things are cheaper for us. Do they consider that many of us at conventions pay up to $1500 for a table or a space to sell our items.
I find this sad and disappointing that Muslims feel comfortable in asking the smallest Muslim business for a discount, and then with all of that we have never met these people before, never have done business with them don't gain a benefit and merely a thank you from them.
So WHY ? AM I giving you a discount???????
ok I give you a discount, the item cost $6 you want it for $4......... and then hand us a $100.00 bill .
