3/23/06 - BOTB '06

Dear Garnet Valley,

We fucking love you.  So much.  You have no idea.  All of you made tonight amazing for us and we are forever grateful.  That was without a doubt the most memorable night of my life, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for all of us on that one.  The singing along, the cheering, the cell phones, everything.  We could never ever possibly repay you adequately.  Again, thank you times four-hundred and ninety (seventy times seven ).  You own our hearts forever.

Love,

Charles Richard Myers IV and the rest of The Stuff

10/15/05 - Merci Beaucoup!

Just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night, especially all of the '05 people who were nice enough to spend their time back in town with us.  It was awesome seeing all of you again and we thank you for coming to the show.  Special thanks goes out to my man Salls for being a HUGE help by handing out flyers at the game and for helping us clean up, and also to Nick for helping us out after the show as well.  We really appriciate it and we hope all of you had a great time.

-Chas

10/14/05 - 5th Quarter

That's right...another 5th Quarter show.  It starts right after the football game ends and is going to be INSIDE of Fellowship Church (the one behind the soccer fields that you can walk to from the football field).  The show is FREE so you better get your ghetto self up to the show after the game.

-Chas

Thanks! - 9/24/05

Hey thurrrr,

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came to the show at the ROC last night!  We had a great time and we hope you did too.

We'll be getting the recording of the show soon, so expect to hear some of the tracks on Purevolume and Myspace.  We might even make a CD out of it, but right now we're not sure since we were having problems with Eric's bass and stuff in some of the songs.

Expect some new songs at shows in the near future

-Chas

9/17/05 - Senior Slump or Comeback of the Year?

Wow.

So since the last time I've updated something on this site the homepage when you log into freewebs is entirely different.  I guess that goes to show how much time has passed.

But anyway, we have a show coming up on the Friday, September 23rd,  I am damn excited for it!  The show will take place shortly after the GV football game that night at the church at the intersection of Bethel and Smithbridge.  It would be awesome if we had as much success as we did when we played a post-football-game show last year.  However, this is NOT at the same church.  Like I said, its the church at Bethel and Smithbridge, NOT Fellowship!  It's still a really short drive/walk, so I really hope everyone will show!  If there's any more info to be had about the show I'll post it soon.

-Chas

4/9/05 - Benefit Concert Tonight!

We're playing a benefit concert tonight at the Brandywine Baptist Church.  The show starts at 6 PM and costs $10.  A bunch of bands are playing, so come out and have some fun while supporting a good cause!  Check out the shows page for more details.

3/30/05 - The Bamboozle

Hey everyone,

On Purevolume.com, which I'm sure is a site that all of you are quite familiar with, an online Battle of the Bands called The Bamboozle is being held.  We're in the battle, and would greatly appriciate if you could help us out!  If you have a spare three minutes, just go to www.purevolume.com and click the "Listeners Area" link in the top right corner.  Then, click the sign up link.  After you click the "I agree to these terms" link (scroll down to the bottom of the page to find it...if you actually read that stuff you're crazy), just pick a username fill in the few fields it asks for.  Then check your email and click the link in the email you should recieve (try refreshing your mailbox if it isn't there right away).  After that, you're all signed up!  Then just head on over to www.purevolume.com/thestuff and click the link at the top that lets you vote for us!  You can vote for up to three bands, so show some love for two others as well (not every band on PV is in the battle of course).  I promise it won't take long at all (unless your connection sucks or you're computer illiterate), and it we would REALLY REALLY REALLY appriciate it!

-Chas

PS:  My username on PV is CMStuff7, so if you sign up add me as a friend!

2/22/05 - Well I guess this is growing up...

RIP Blink 182

1992 - 2005

Here's to the band that has had the largest influence on us as people and musicians.

You will be missed.

"Both getting getting tired of punk rock clubs, but both playing in punk rock bands.  The start was something good, but some good things must end."

2/11/05 - Battle of the Bands Results

Congrats to A Farewell Letter, The DMB Project, and the Collective!  Thanks so much to everyone who came out and supported us and cheered and basically made us feel incredibly good for 15 minutes...we love you guys.

-Chas

PS: Taylor Music sucks anyway

2/10/05 - Battle of the Bands Tommorow!!!

Tommorow (Friday, February 11th) is the Battle of the Bands at Garnet Valley High School!  The show starts at 7:00 PM, and tickets are $10 at the door (or $7 if you buy them in advance at lunch in the high school cafeteria).  The bands playing include us, A Farewell Letter, The DMB Project, Hattrick, Visual Resistance, Talking to Ephram, Remedy, Subject to Change, and The Collective.  We're the first band to play, so be there by 7 PM so you don't miss us!  We'll be premiering our new song "Someone Worth Missing," as well as playing two favorites off of our CD "Maiden Voyage."  Speaking of which, you can buy Maiden Voyage, which has 5 of our songs on it, at the battle for $5.  We'll have a table set up in the lobby or something after we play.  Please come out and support the bands!  We promise you'll have a good time; the Battle has been a huge success in the past and will be this year too.

See you at the show!

-Chas

PS: Shut it Sohum

Indeed

I think Chas' new trend sucks, but I like how his musical mind works...Hoping y'all do to with our new song at the battle!

1/25/05 - More Battle of the Bands info

Hey everybody,

We've got a bit of news regarding this year's Battle of the Bands at Garnet Valley High School.  The Battle will take place on Friday, February 11th in the high school auditorium.  We don't know what time the show is yet or how the line up goes, but we'll let you know as soon as the people running it have it figured out and let us know.  Hopefully this will be soon...we'll keep you posted.

This year at the Battle you can expect to hear the premier of our new song, Someone Worth Missing, along with two others you very well may have already heard.  We'll also be selling CD's and t-shirts, so you if you don't have either and want them, now's your chance!  And if you're really lucky, Eric may shake his ass on stage again, but you'll have to show up to find out.

Hope to see you there!

-Chas (I'm gonna be the first out of the three of us to actually sign our name instead of "The Stuff"...I'm starting a new trend)

12/7/04 - Garnet Valley BOTB '05

Woo!  We made the cut for the Garnet Valley Highschool Battle of the Bands '05.  The show isn't until February, but we're already pumped.    We'll have more details as they get released.

In other news, it's a sad, sad week for the Garnet Valley music scene.  We are very sorry to hear that 12th Round Knockout has come to an end.  Garnet Valley has lost one of it's finest, and we hope our friends in 12KO can get work something out in time for Battle of the Bands.  Also, we are extremely disapointed in that 3rd Edition wasn't selected as one of the contenders this year.  We think that is ridiculous that they didn't make the cut and that they are well deserving of a slot at the show seeing as they tore it up at last year's BOTB, have quite a following, and can crank out some good music.  We are not pleased at all.

11/23/04 - Thanks!

Hey everybody.  Just wanted to extend a HUGE thank you to every who came out to see us at our shows last weekend.  Darlington was ALOT of fun, so thanks so much to everyone who came out and made the night such a success and to the people at Darlington Arts Center who made the night possible.  We had a blast and we hope that you did too.  As for the Band Blowout at Kahunaville, thanks again to the people who drove all the way to Wilmington to see us.  Our apoligies go out to the people who came to see us but missed alot of our set because of the horrible organization of the show (not placing blame on the people running the show or anything...).

Without any big events coming up (although new shows will still be scheduled and posted as soon as they are), we plan to use this time to do a bit of writing, so you can expect a few new songs in the near future.  Lyrics and more info will be up upon completion of the songs.  For the mean time, you can check out the lyrics to first of these songs, titled "Someone Worth Missing."  The song itself isn't done...but why not put the lyrics up?

11/10/04 - Upcoming Shows

Yo everyone.  Just wanted to remind you guys that we've got our show at the Darlington Center of Fine arts on Friday, November 19th and the Big Band Blowout at Kahunaville on Saturday, November 20th, so everybody come out and support!  We'll be handing out flyers in school soon.  Check out the shows page for some more details.  In other news, we've got some songs in the works, so expect to hear some new STUFF in the future.

-The Stuff

PS: Just noticed that the purevolume and myspace links are really far down the page, so here they are for your convienence.

10/28/04 - No Mischief Night Show

Holla,

We just wanted to make it clear that we are NOT playing at the show at Elam on October 30th.  Due to some communications errors, "The Stuff" was placed on the flyer for the show and announced on GVTV to be playing.  This is NOT true.  Due to prior engagements, we are unable to play the show.  Just to clear things up, we didn't "drop out" of this show, it was never a sure thing whether we were playing or not to begin with and it was a mistake that we were put on the flyer before all of us were consulted about it.  Sorry to anyone about any problems caused by it.  We do, however, have plenty of upcoming shows.  We are playing at Kahunaville on November 7th and November 20th, and at the Darlington Center of Fine Arts on November 19th (you may have gotten an ad about it in the mail!).  Check out the shows page for more details.  Hope to see you there!

10/8/04 - "...about a starry AUTUMN night..."

We just got back from the 5th Quarter show at Fellowship Church...we had such a blast!  The turnout was absolutely huge, we sold all of our CDs and most of our t-shirts, got interviewed for the GV Press, and even were asked to sign someone's chest...let's just say it was quite a night.  Thank you to everyone who came out and made it as big a success as it was, and extra thanks to Ben and everyone else at Fellowship Church and NICK Smith for getting us the gig in the first place.  We are definately hoping to do some more after-football-game gigs at Fellowship in the future.  In other news, we've got some shows coming up at Fennario's Pub in West Chester and Kahunaville in Wilmington, so if you enjoyed us tonight, come check us out at one of those shows!  Check out the shows page for more details.

Once again, thank you to everyone who showed up tonight, we love you

-The Stuff

10/7/04 - 5th Quarter!

Tommorow (Friday, October 8th), The Stuff will be playing 5th Quarter, a free show at Fellowship Church.  The show will start shortly after the Garnet Valley football game ends, and we will be playing in the church parking lot, which is really close to the football field.  Our CD, Maiden Voyage, will be on sale there for $5, as will t-shirts, which are also $5.  You can go to the shows page for more details.  Come on, what else do you have to do after a football game during that hour and a half before curfew?  Need we repeat that it's free??? So come on over after the football game and check it out!

Hope to see you at the show

-The Stuff

10/02/04 - THE EP IS DONE!!!

Our first professionally recorded CD, "Maiden Voyage," is now complete!  It has five of our songs on it, which are (in order) Time, Monday Mornings, Lost and Found, T-Minus, and Apathy.  It's even got a cool little fold-out booklet with lyrics and everything.  The cost of the CD is five dollars.  It goes on sale tommorow (Sunday, October 3rd) at our shows at The Grape Street Pub and Kahunaville.  We're playing at The Grape at 1:40 PM, and at Kahunaville at 7:30 PM.  We hope to see you there and that you'll pick up and enjoy the CD!!! Check out the "Lyrics - EP" and "Shows" pages for more info.

T-Minus one more day...

9/26/04 - Kahunaville

The show tonight at Kahunaville was a big success.  We only got to play Time, Lost and Found, and Apathy, BUT, we got invited back to play two more shows in the near future at Kahunaville, this time for 45 minute sets!  Check out the shows page for more details.  Thank you so much for every one that came out tonight and supported us and to everyone that took the promo CDs and bought t-shirts, and also to Kahunaville for letting us play and inviting us back!  Hope to see everyone at the upcoming shows at Grape Street and Kahunaville!  IT'S ALMOST EP TIME...

-The Stuff

9/22/04 - Kahunaville Show and another EP Update

This Sunday (the 26th), The Stuff will be playing at Kahunaville in Wilmington Delaware.  The show starts at 7 PM and admission is 7 bucks.  There will be multiple bands playing.  The band order isn't determined until an hour before the show starts, but please come out and support us and the other bands!  Kahunaville has an awesome sound system and stage, a bar (kids are allowed in for the show but obviously can't get served), a restaraunt, and an arcade.  It's an awesome place, so if you're not doing anything this Sunday night, do yourself a favor and come check out the show!  Also, we'll be giving out free singles to anyone who comes at the show.  Come on now...bands, food, video games, and free STUFF...it'll be a good time.

As for the upcoming EP, the final stages of mixing and mastering are going to be completed this weekend.  Photoshoots, cover and lyric book design and priting, and whatever else we have to do will be completed shortly afterwards.  IT'S NOT MUCH LONGER NOW...

-The Stuff

9/15/04 - EP Update

Here's a bit of info regarding the progress of the EP.  As you may know, all of the songs on the EP have been recorded.  The only thing left to do with the actual CD itself is to have it mastered, which will be getting done as soon as our good friend and producer/engineer Brian Bricklin from the Music Training Center gets back from vacation.  Also, we are currently working on the printing on the actual CD surface as well as a CD foldout booklet, for which we took some pictures today.  Finally, is EP is NOT going to be called "The Sick and Tired of Waiting EP."  Instead, we are looking to give it a more witty name that will fit the interesting "theme" we have chosen for the CD visuals.  We are hoping for a September release date for the CD, which will sell for five bucks.  More info coming very soon on this!

-The Stuff

9/10/04 - "Rock the Vote" Show and EP Update

Yo everyone.  Tommorow (Saturday, September 11th) we are playing a the Rock the Vote show at the Music Training Center in Conshohocken with all of the bands that have won competitions there (like ourselves) this year.  Each band gets a 20 minute set, and we go on at 3:30.  Tickets are $7 and are bought at the door at the Music Training Center...we hope to see you there!  We'll be playing the five songs from the upcoming EP.  Speaking of which, The EP is almost finished...there's just a bit of mixing and mastering that has to be done and we need to take some pictures for the CD booklet and get that finished and printed.  We don't have a definate date yet or anything...but we're anticipating that it won't be much longer.  More updates coming soon!

-The Stuff

9/3/04 - You saved me

Hey everyone! We just got home from recording Apathy at the Music Training Center.  After a grueling eight hours of recording, we finally finished the song, and we are very happy with the end result.  You can check it out at www.purevolume.com/thestuff or at www.myspace.com/thestuffrock.  Be sure to let us know what you think in the guestbook.  Also, with Apathy recorded, this means that all of the songs for The Sick and Tired of Waiting EP are finished.  The EP release date is going to be pushed back a little bit, because we are looking into getting it mastered and getting the CD faces and CD booklets printed.  We'll have more details ASAP.

I'm falling much faster...right into disaster...

-The Stuff

8/24/04 - When I'm around you it feels like its raining

Yo everyone!  We just got back from professionally recording Time at the Music Training Center!  Now you can listen to a good pro version of it rather than the crappy version we did in the school band room a long time ago.  You can check it out at www.purevolume.com/thestuff, along with some other songs that are going to be on our upcoming EP.  It's going to be called "The Sick and Tired of Waiting EP," and the release date (hopefully) is set to be Saturday, September 4th, the day after we record Apathy, the final track of the record, which will also be the most "professionally" recorded one (thanks to the 8 hour recording slot we won for winning the Teen Rock Showcase).  So, if all goes well, and it should, The Sick and Tired of Waiting EP will be out just in time for the new school year!  The EP will cost five dollars, and you can buy it from us at shows, in school, at United Check Cashing in Wilmington (Eric and Chas's location of employment...lol), or whenever else you might see us.  We can't wait to finish it and get out music out there, and we can only hope that you guys are half, maybe even a quarter as pumped we are!

We're sick and tired of waiting (to get a CD out)

-The Stuff

PS: We've also got a whole lot of shows coming up in September.  They'll be up in the shows page soon, so we hope to see you there!

8/22/04 - Sick and tired of waiting

Hey everybody.  We have a correction regarding the upcoming EP.  Instead of recording Bored, we will be recording Time, which will get recorded this coming Tuesday (the 24th).  That puts the EP lineup at Time, Monday Mornings, Lost and Found, T-Minus, and Apathy.  It will definately be ready by the time school starts, most likely earlier than that.  We'll have more info soon, along with the two new songs recorded.

Much Love,

-The Stuff

8/21/04 - Victory!!!!!!

Score!!!!!!!!!! We placed first place at the Teen Rock Showcase at the Music Training Center today!!! Our prize is a 100 dollar gift certificate to Guitar Center and an eight hour recording package at the Music Training Center! Apathy, which was declared the best song of the night by the judges, will be the song to be recorded in full out professional quality!!! Also, for winning, we score a gig at the Grape Street Pub in Philly!!! We're so pumped about all of this, so thank you to everyone who came out and supported us tonight!

We're feeling this!

The Stuff

PS: It's about time we didn't place second in something

PPS: In other news, we're also going to be recording Bored at the MTC a few days before we do Apathy in a standard 2 hour session, so it'll be the quality of Monday Mornings, Lost and Found, and T-Minus.  ANDDDD, once Bored and Apathy are recorded, the summer EP will be complete and for sale!

Shows!

Hey Everybody!

The Stuff is going to be playing at the Library with Second To Last as a part of a fundraiser on Sunday!  Please come out and have some fun...there should be food and raffles and Mrs. Tenaglia is DJ'ing.  Also, we're gonna try to record Bored at the Music Training Center soon...or maybe really soon!  Hopefully it'll be good!

We're Outtie,

The Stuff

8/6/04 - New Songs Recorded!!!

Yesterday we recorded Monday Mornings and T-Minus at the Music Training Center! Check them out at www.purevolume.com/thestuff!!! Hope you guys enjoy, and let us know what you think in the guestbook!

-Love always,

The Stuff

PS: The two remaining songs for the EP are to be announced shortly and recorded near the end of August...

8/2/04 - Upcoming Recordings - T-Minus and Monday Mornings!

Hey everybody.  On Thursday, August 5th we'll be recording two more songs at the Music Training Center, the same place we recorded Lost and Found.  The songs will be T-Minus, one of our more mellow songs, and Monday Mornings, one of our more light-hearted ones.  You may be familiar with them.  We'll have them posted on Purevolume late on Thursday night.  Feel free to check them out in the Lyrics and Lyrics cont'd pages in the mean time.  Also, expect AT LEAST two more songs to be recorded and released in late August.  We'll have details on that in a little bit...

Fat Kisses,

The Stuff

7/20/04 - Time...the Dance Remix

Yo everyone,

We're due to be recording 4 more songs professionally at the Music Training Center (same place we did Lost and Found) over the course of August, but in the mean time, we have a little treat for you guys...the TIME DANCE REMIX!!! A big thanks goes out to Zac "Egg" Camagna for remixing it for us, we hope you get a kick out of it, maybe you'll even skank to it.   Check it out at www.purevolume.com/thestuff, and while you're there, check out Lost and Found too.

7/12/2004 - Lost and Found!

AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!  It's finally done!  After a grueling four hours of driving, with flooded roads, and downed electrical wires we arrived at the Music Training Center and recorded Lost and Found, our newest single!  Hopefully y'all will like it!  If you go to www.purevolume.com/thestuff it should be posted by tonight!  Let us know what you think!  A big thanks goes out to Chas's mom for driving us in the friggin horrible weather for like 4 hours and to Brian at the MTC for doing such an awesome job producing the song and being so cool.

Yours Forever and After,

-The Stuff

PS - We're so PSYCHED!!!!!
