"Less than two hundred years ago, the greater Dromedian system was once a thriving constellation of industrial worlds with several hive cities, and four imperial regiments assigned to protect it. The system's rich store of Duraplast, a critical component of in making Ceramite armor, made it an ideal location for manufacturing of all sorts of military hardware. The only problem is the system's location. The Dromedian system is located in the western quadrant of imperial space, near several ork occupied worlds. The entire Dromedian area has always been a prime target for Eldar pirates and Ork incursions. But after an industrial accident on Dromedian Prime (some say it was sabotage) destroyed much of the planet’s capital hive-city and adjacent industrial factory, the orks were able to get a foothold. The massive explosion not only crippled that planet’s defenses, but it also spread toxic radiation across the greater system sector. The forces of Dromedian now cannot leave the sanctity of their cities without gasmasks and other protective gear. The orks, however, appear immune to the radiation and have multiplied rapidly in the decades that have passed.
Now the four Dromedian systems are in a perilous situation. Much of the civilian workforce has been evacuated as the orks and radiation have spread. The hardy, stubborn subhuman Dromes have refused to leave, but Dromedian Prime has already been lost, save for two hive-cities under constant attack, and it is feared the other three systems will soon be overrun . . .”
