John Sunseri

John Sunseri lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and requisite two cats. He manages a restaurant for a living, and spends whatever free time he manages to snatch from real life jotting down fantastical images and scenes, including many that involve tentacles and slime, fangs and free-spilling blood. For all of that, he's a fairly mild-mannered fellow.

John's work has appeared in magazines such as Hardboiled, Dark Animus, Black Petals, Bare Bone, Night Terrors, Night to Dawn and many others. His tales have been published in the anthologies Horrors Beyond, Hell's Hangmen, Hardboiled Cthulhu and Hear Them Roar, and more stories are slated to appear in various publications upcoming in the near future. He's also completed a heroic fantasy novel and is seeking representation for it, and is hard at work on a hardboiled horror book...whenever he gets a moment free of short-story demands.

John attended Yale University for a couple of years before running out of money, abortively majoring in English, and spent most of his young- and mid-adult life drinking beer and watching bad horror movies. Luckily, he eventually ran into a woman who would marry him, and she turned out to be the best woman in the world - and now the beer-drinking has receded to manageable levels. The bad horror movies, though - there's no cure for that.
