This is the Elite Four Guide for Pokemon Red and Blue. Well 1 thing I must tell you before you embark on this challenge, is to stock up on Potions, Antidotes, Revives, etc. They come in handy. Also create a final team, cause you won't be able to edit it later. Make sure its diverse.
Room 1

Lorelei
Team Lv 54 Dewgong Lv 53 Cloyster Lv 54 Slowbro Lv 56 Jynx Lv 56 Lapras
Lorelei specializes in Pokemon of the Ice Type. So you may think you can have a Fire type Pokemon to own her. But since 4 out of her 5 Pokemon are part Water type, it will be of no use. If you managed to capture Zapdos, this match will be a breeze. If you weren't able to, train a strong electric Pokemon up to Lv. 60 before coming here. Strong electric types will reduce her team very fast. For Jynx a strong fire Pokemon can do the trick.
Beat her, heal your Pokemon and move to the next room.
Room 2

Bruno
Team Lv 53 Onix Lv 55 Hitmonchan Lv 55 Hitmonlee Lv 56 Onix Lv 58 Machamp
To be honest, for an Elite Four trainer, Bruno is quite a joke. Both of his Onixes, can be decimated with a Water or Grass move. Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and Machamp are pure Fighting Pokemon so Psychic and Fighting type moves will do the trick. If you have Zapdos, Drill Peck will do wonders here. Quite an easy battle to say so myself.
Beat him, heal your Pokemon and move to the next room.
Room 3

Agatha
Team Lv 56 Gengar Lv 56 Golbat Lv 55 Haunter Lv 58 Arbok Lv 60 Gengar
Agatha, is finally a worthy challenge. She uses the Ghost type, but all her Ghost Pokemon are part Poison, so their super effectiveness against Psychic Pokemon is useless. Her main strategy is to Poison/Sleep/Confuse you, so take care of her fast. Psychic moves can take care of her Haunter and Gengars. Golbat will confuse you as soon as possible, so an Ice/Psychic/Electric move will do wonders, if you have Zapdos use it.
Beat her, heal your Pokemon and move to the next room.
Room 4

Lance
Team Lv 58 Gyarados Lv 56 Dragonair Lv 56 Dragonair Lv 60 Aerodactyl Lv 62 Dragonite
Lance is the final Elite Four member, and he uses the Dragon type, which is weak to Ice type moves, so Articuno or a well raised Ice Pokemon like Lapras, Cloyster, etc. do wonders. Gyarados is 4x weak to electric moves so its easy to defeat. Electric/Ice type moves will do it for Aerodactyl. For both his dragonair use Ice moves. Ice moves will also do 4x damage to Dragonair, so it might be an okay match to win.
Beat him, heal your Pokemon and move to the next room, for the final match with the champion..
Champion

Gym Leader Koga
Team(If you chose Bulbasaur) Lv 61 Pidgeot Lv 59 Alakazam Lv 61 Rhydon Lv 63 Gyarados 61 Exeggutor Lv 65 Charizard
Team(If you chose Bulbasaur) Lv 61 Pidgeot Lv 59 Alakazam Lv 61 Rhydon Lv 61 Arcanine 63 Exeggutor Lv 65 Blastoise
Team(If you chose Bulbasaur) Lv 61 Pidgeot Lv 59 Alakazam Lv 61 Rhydon Lv 61 Gyarados 63 Arcanine Lv 65 Venusaur
Surprise, surprise! Yes, your rival is the champion, and he's got the strongest team you'll encounter. But he can be defeated if you are prepared. Pidgeot will go down with an electric attack. Alakazam can go down with any really strong attack from your starter. Use Water/Grass moves for Rhydon. Water can take out Arcanine too. Use Electric moves on Gyarados as it is 4x weak to it. Exeggutor will go down to Fire/Ice moves. For Charizard, use Water or Electric moves. A Psychic/Fire/Ice move will take. Blastoise will fall to Grass/Electric moves.
Beat him, and you've just finished the main game.
