EV basics

Many people have heard of EV training, but they dont know what is is. It is a set of points you get from battling other pokemon. For every 4 of these points, a certain base stat will get raised by 1. Now, some people say this is a waste of time. I say different. My latias gained 66 sp attack points by gaining 1 level. How the hell is that a waste of time!

Who to fight

Attack Sharpedo/carvana

Special Attack Spinda

EV training in full

Each time you fight one of these pokemon, you will earn 1-2 EV points for its particular stat. When you get 4 for each stat, you will get a +1 bonus added on when you level up. With the macho brace, the amount of EV points you earn is doubled, making it faster to gain high EV values. With the pokerus, this is doubled a second time, cutting the time in 1/4 the amount it would take to EV train without anything. Also, each pokemon can only have 510 with 255 EV for each partucular stat. So you can have a +66 sp attack for example, on a latios who has had no prior EV training. Carbos, Zinc, Calcuim....etc, add +4 ev points for your pokemon, but you can only give them 10 of each of those. I hope this has cleared up alot of this somewhat confusing topic.

Step by Step

1. Pick a stat you want to raise

2. Look up the specific pokemon you need to fight for that stat

3. Give your pokemon the macho brace (and infect it with the pkrus if thats possible)

4. Fight that pokemon and ONLY that pokemon 30 times

5. Pick a second that you want to raise

6. Repeat the same way

notes

- you can only max out 2 stats or spread them out

- this works best with pokemon you just caught, as fighting trainers counts as EV points (so if you have an old pokemon dont do this, it wont work)

- try to EV train them from the egg, or put them in the daycare until they are at a suitable level
