"With the pull of society today, the overall number of women who have low self-esteem is frightening. The world has painted a picture of the so-called typical successful woman. In that description it calls for women to be a slim blonde bombshell that is married with 2 children and one on the way, a den mother, teacher, taxi driver, soccer mom with June Cleaver’s amazing knack for keeping the house immaculate, and to top it off, she needs to be just as strong, capable, if not be – the man. Unfortunately, the list goes on.
As a Christian speaker and teacher, I have seen many depressed women caused by this mold that society has made. We tend to loose sight of why God has truly created us. We each are His child; we are of royal blood. As women, we are the daughters of the King of all Kings. Moreover, we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
My calling is to spread this good news - to encourage women and let them know that they are worth far more than rubies. God has given a blueprint for His daughters in the Bible – Proverbs 31:10-31. This is a blueprint for us to build our lives on as we live for Him. The character trait of a noble woman does not happen over night, nor is there a finishing line. This nameless woman is something to strive for. The fact that God has made us all different in so many ways will make some character traits seem to be harder and some easier, but we do not need to do all that is listed to strive as a virtuous woman. It is what GOD puts on our heart.
I have expertise in the Proverb's Woman scriptures and have taught women for years about these scriptures. Because of this need of most women, I have written a Proverbs Woman Bible study titled, The Ruby Legacy - The Generational Passing of Virtue. A 10-week (5 day weeks) study that takes the reader through each scripture verse of the Proverb 31:10-31. Each day looks at the scriptures differently. For example: Day 1: Looking Deeper; This is where I take the scripture of the week, take it apart, and teach what it means. Day 2: Comparing Notes, this is when I take that same verse(s) and compare them to the biblical days and how it pertains to today's living. The best part of the study is Day 4, where I take women of the Bible and explain how she is a noble woman, regardless of the sin in her life. This favorite day is called, "The Ruby Legacy, hence the name of the entire study. I explain throughout the study that these women of the Bible are our legacies as we are to the generations after us.
