Dr Gordon Ormerod - Robert Daws

Dr Ormerod is one of Mr Middleditch's Doctors who gets on with his job whatever. At the end of the first series, we see him having to attend a road accident that his wife is involved in. It leaves him devestated, however in the second series he has to come to terms with the fact that his wife won't be the same as she was, and she is only being kept alive by a life support machine. Gordon turns to Jill for comfort, and before long they share passionate kiss. Could this be another romance blossoming at St Aidens?

Dr Jill Weatherill - Amy Robbins

Dr Weatherill is another of St. Aidens Doctors, she likes to be independant. She knows the rules, however in the first  series she bends them, which doesn't go down very well with Mr Middleditch. She is good friends with Gordon, but has a shock when he kisses her in the first  series after he tells her he is fond of her. As she is taken aback she rushes out of the room, it appears that she doesn't want to get involved with him. However, after taking some advice from a patient in the second series, she tells Jill that she needs to be with Gordon. When the two of them are out for a walk, Jill mentions what happaned with them before, and they both realize that they need each other resulting in a passionate kiss.

Dr David Cheriton - Julian Ovenden
Dr Cheriton is another doctor at St Aidens, he is quite new, and has come from the busy hospitals in London, to work at a country hospital. St Aidens.  He becomes popular after saving a girl in a car  crash on his first day, and getting stuck in as soon as he can. He is an instant hit at the hospital, especially with Staff Nurse Meryl Taylor who likes the look of him. It isn't long before they become friends and he asks her out on a date.

Staff Nurse Meryl Taylor - Zoie Kennedy
Staff Nurse Taylor is a Nurse at St Aidens. She has to deal with patients when they come in to hospital from emergancies, or just a general stay. He didn't and Meryl forgives him, but it isn't until the second series that she feels he doesn't love her, once he tells her he is going back to London, however, David stays, and they keep together.

Ken Hopkirk - Michael Starke

Ken Hopkirk is one of the porters at The Royal. He is always up to something. He works and trains a young porter named Alun, and between them get up to a lot of mischief. It is clear that Ken doesn't like Mr Harper, the man from the NHS, who has come to inspect the Hospital, however no one likes  him as he is such a hinderance! Alun Morris - Andy Wear
Alun is another porter who works alongside Ken. He is usually part of one of Ken's scams, even if he  doesn't want to get involved, he never gets' anything out of it. For instance, he spent money on buying Caviar, but it turned out that the sailors had sold them whale meat and not the intended caviar they were expecting.

Lizzie Kennoway - Michelle Hardwick
Lizzie is the Hospital's Receptionist. She often finds her self in a state because she can't keep up to date with certain things, mainly due to the fact that she's not on the ball as everyone else. Lizzie is Ken's daughter, she is also married to Dave Kennoway.

Dr Lucy Klein - Polly Maberly
Lucy Klein is the hospitals psychiatrist.  She finds herself helping out in difficult situations and she has her own problems in an episode in Series 3 regarding and ex patient.
