The Phenotype

The term "Phenotype" or "Wereside" describes the animal, or animals, which make up an individual's therianthropy.  In my own case, this is spotted hyena.  Phenotypes are generally natural animals, mainly mammals, however some therians describe themselves as mythical creatures (for a variety of reasons), or believe they may have multiple phenotypes.

There are a great many topics to be covered as there is often a great deal of disagreement between individuals on this matter.  It is difficult for any person to accept something they cannot see or touch or experience themselves, and so questioning always arises.  This site aims to look objectively at the subject matter here.

This will be a Work In Progress, as there is a lot of ground to cover on this matter.

  • Experiencing The Phenotype - how it feels to have "the animal inside" and the ways in which it manifests
  • Knowing Your Phenotype - how uncertainty is natural
  • Mythical Creatures - information on those who experience mythical phenotypes, such as dragons
  • Multiple Weresides - information on experiencing the uncertainty of multiple phenotypes
  • The Case For Mythicals And Multiples - one possible explanation for these types of therian, Spiritual Attatchment
