Season 09-10 Preview
With the season 08-09 over it ended up to be quite a successful season both on and off the pitch for the Ports, with the team pushing back for were they rightfully belong this give "The Red Terrace" the opportunity to raise its standards in support for the men in red.
What was quite an eventful season, winning the league on the last day of the season, the run up to the CIS cup final and going onto winning the CIS kept the group working hard through out the season.
This is all in the past now and these found memories which will be remembered. "The Red Terrace" attentions have now moved onto the opening games of the new season in the 09-10 Irish League season. The group began to plan for the first handful of fixtures (and what an opening three games)
Crusaders- IC winners put us out on our own ground so a point to prove there
Glentoran- Only won the league because we were not there
Glenavon- A Club with money to burn, but still manage to win **** all
Thats not even including further games through out the season involving teams such as:
Linfield IFA- The biggest club in North and South Ireland, but still a championship club won more than them the season past.
Cliftonville- The nearly men of recent seasons came so close but yet so far, They piss their pants when the lift the County Antrim shield also known as the “bin lid” (shows their ambition)
Ballymena- Andy “up his own hole” Smith, say no more.
These are games the group are out to impress with this being Portadown's reappearance to the premier league. Work has already went under way on two new group banners which will be revealed within the pre-season matches. The Red Terrace are well under way and are looking forward to supporting the men in red as they reinstate themselves as one of the biggest teams in the country.
