Derby day nerves settle in

Brown will not be fazed by Gorgie boo boys
Simon Brown, Mowbrays first signing in the summer, expressed to the Edinburgh Evening News how he won't be fazed by intimdating Tynecastle. Brown, 28, has experienced the polite and well mannered "banter" from the Millwall support at Colchesters run down Stadium. "At Colchester there was very little space between the crowd and my goal and when the Millwall fans came to town it got pretty intense. I think they just target anyone who comes near them and as a goalkeeper youre obviously closer than most."However Brown did underline the importance of the match Its obviously a big game in Edinburgh and there is plenty of hype behind it, I can certainly see that from the newspapers. I dont have too much contact with the fans but you can sense it. At 27-years-old Brown is one of the elder statesmen in the young Hibs side, but that is not to say that Hibs lack experience although Brown promises to do all he can to help calm any nerves! Its difficult really because playing in goals you cant have too much of an effect on the front players, but of course if I can guide them in any way then Ill be doing it. But we have players like Stephen Glass in midfield who is experienced - even the likes of Ian Murray and Gary Caldwell have experience even though they are still so young.

Mowbray instills fluent, fast football with cutting edge

Not quite "Famous five" territory yet but with Tony Mowbray and the the rest of the young Hibs army we could be in for an exciting season. Hibs ejection from the Inter-toto cup has only just sparked them into life as they saw two five star performances against Cardiff City and Leeds Utd. New signings Guillaume Beuzelin, David Murphy and Dean Shiels all look talented additions who can possibly be the driving force that sees the Scottish cup back at Easter Road for the first time since 1902. However Hibs season has got off to a disappointing start after losing 1-0 at home to Kilmarnock. There were a few promising signs however and I don't think it will be the story of the season.
