9/4/09 - Woops

Well, it's official. Silver has officially dropped the ball with the whole being-a-good-webmistress thing, and I'm really sorry! Not only have I just plain not updated for about a month, but I just noticed I haven't been adding the dates to the last couple of updates. Oh well. Maybe we'll just be a website that doesn't update very often. Wait till summer, it'll all pick right back up then =)

New siggies

Just added three new siggies, but I fear they might be a bit on the thick side. As in, they're "height" is set at around 200px, something I now realise is a bit big. Oh well. They've got some fun textures on them, which was amusing to do. Plus, we might be getting Photoshop soon! The fancy version, too - CS3 or whatever it's called. Woop!

SOTM March!

OK, so I officially suck at updating, but oh well. I know y'all love me anyway (o_O). Anyhoo, I'm glad to announce (slightly late, as usual) our SOTM for March 2009! It is *drumroll*:

and they totally deserve it ^^ Love yoouuu!

How to use a hyphen

YES!! Finally finished the tutorial I've been meaning to do for ages! It's How To Use A Hyphen, and contains all the information you could possibly want about that tiny little line that we all get so confused about.
Seeing people misuse this thing is my biggest pet peeve. Even people I know who are otherwise the most literate people on Earth still misuse it. The most common mistake? Going like this- instead of this - see? IT. IS. WRONG.
And don't think I'm making this up - without naming any names, the person who I think should be shot at dawn for doing the above mistake is someone I reckon almost everyone who comes here knows. Her world is wet. Work it out xD

Affie update

Hokay, fiddled around the the affiliates page. Blew the dust off the page, shooed out the dead/hollow affies and added two new ones, Icy Graphics and Warriors Harmony. Heenjoy!

Plus, for all those of you who I know are just waiting for this to happen, I have drafted a few layout ideas in the back of my maths book. So yesh, it's all slowly coming together. "Slowly" being the operative word, there...

6/2/09 - Updates

Righty-ho, bit of a general update going on here.
First of all, I'm proud to announce that we've been chosen as Whispering Secret's February SOTM - thank you so much, guys! Your award has been immortalised forever on our awards page ^^
Also, I've decided to get back our own SOTMs, and have nominated StarClan's Forest to win our (rather rushed) award!! Yay for Silvee!
Plus, we also have two new affiliates - Herbalfoot Graphics and Shadows at Dusk! Be sure to check them out pronto!

1/2/09 - Layouts and Staff

Right, I've just added a new Guild layout, yay! Tis very pretty, and I like what I did with the CSS, if I may say so. Technically, I made it for a Guild I was going to create a while back, but no-one joined so it was just sitting around ^^.

In addition, we have the Staff announcements to make. I know I said I'd do it on the 30th, but I kind of forgot, so I'll do it now.
First, I'd like to thank everyone who applied for Staff, and to thank y'all for your time and effort in participating. I've thought it over, and have come to the rather uncomfortable conclusion that I'm still not quite comfortable with having a Staff member just yet - I'd like to keep tPP run just by myself for a bit longer. I'm sorry for raising everyone's hopes, but this is the decision I feel best with. Again, thanks for everyone's time and I wish all our applicants every success in the future ^^

25/1/09 - The Good Graphic Walkthrough

OK, recently I've become so irritated by badly-made graphics I've decided to take matters into my own hands, and make the Good Graphic Walkthrough. It's just a small thing, but it will hopefully show some of the typical things done by inexperienced graphickers, and how to remedy them into better-quality work. Please feel free to check it out!

24/1/09 - Dude! More updates!

Man, I am on a roll! I've just added a new tutorial for y'all - this time an Image Blending one, and just now Fuzz of Whispering Secrets has inspired me to give Gimp another chance, so I may just go and make some avatars...

Woop! Made four new avatars and two siggies (one of which I think might be a bit big, but oh well), so I suppose I know have to admit that Gimp maybe isn't //that// bad... but it's still nowhere near as good as Photoshop *yearn*. But it'll do, I suppose...

23/1/09 - Tutorials!

Wow!! Silver's been in an unusual un-procrastinating mood today! I've actually gone the whole hog and made you two new graphic tutorials, which can be found here and here! Learn some cool (albeit simple) techniques today!

In addition, our call for Staff members is possibly coming to a close soon! Yep, I've found a good, potential Staff member and they may be joining us soon! I'll give it another week, but on the 30th January, we should have a new Staff member joining us!

17/1/09 - New affies

Sorry for not updating, but school's started again ^^ Anyhoo, just to say that we have a new affiliate, Whispering Secrets! They're a fantastic site, and one I guarantee you will enjoy. Plus, they've got some nifty Gimp tutorials, which, seeing as I no longer have Photoshop, am rather keen on XD.

I've been thinking, lately *gasp*, and I think I shall plan on changing this layout soon... it's very old - from Summer '08, if you can believe! - and rather outdated from what I can do now. One problem, though: I hate Gimp with such a passion that the idea of spending hours trying to cudgel it into obeying my will does not sound too appealing. So, I digress. On the bright side, though: my aunt recently sent my family a voucher for Amazon, which I'm trying to persuade my parent's into spending on a new Photoshop... Until then, we shall stick with this layout, unless I can whizz up something amazing on MS Paint or something. Which I doubt. Kitty Cats Online NOW!
