Yesterday, Today, The Future....

8th of November 2007

Oliver has started going to creche.  He is doing what they call the adaptation.  Monday he went for 30 minutes, Tuesday 45 minutes and yesterday for 1h30!  The teacher said that she rarely sees babies like Oliver who don't cry at all when the mommy leaves!!  It must be because he is used to staying with his Tia Val and he also stayed 2 weeks with Babou this summer.  She also said that he is very calm and gentle and that he is very independent!  I AM SOOOOO PROUD!!! Today he will stay for 2h15 and tomorrow for the whole afternoon.  Then, from next week he will go every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 5h30!  I can't wait to have those afternoons free!
We have seriously started to sell our apartment.  So far there have only been agencies showing interest but we don't lose hope.  The aim is to sell in November so we can leave in February.  It takes approximately 2 months to sign off an apartment in France, so ideally we should sell now!  We have started packing up already so we don't have too much of a bad surprise when we have to leave.  We are only taking our personal things with us, like photos and papers.  The rest is all for sale.  We don't have too much, so it's not too sad and it is very exciting to think that we can start over again!
Peter has organized everything with the company in Mauritius and initially we will rent a house anywhere to see where we really want to be.  We think that we should stay around Grand Bay in the north because that is where the business will be but we are not sure if that is the best place to live, if there are any schools etc etc  It's going to be great to do all this, I can't wait!
Susana is a little princess!  She has grown so much in the last few weeks! It's like if we stared at her long enough we would see her growing!  She is very good, easy going.  She still wakes up at night for a feed but it's not too bad!  She had started off like Oliver but went back to normal babies life after a few weeks!!!  Peter gives her a bottle once in a while in the night so I can sleep for more than 3 hours straight and those nights are FANTASTIC!!!
Well, that is all for now!!!  Hopefully next time I write we will have sold our apartment!  Cross fingers for us!

06 October 2007

We are a family of 4 now!  It is truly wonderful.  Oliver loves his little sister.  He calls her "bébé" and wants to kiss her and carry her all the time (we don't let him carry her obviously...)  Although he is taking the news super well, he is in search of constant attention now, so breastfeeding is quite difficult as Susana is a very hungry girl and eats for over an hour each time.  It is hard to cope with this, but not impossible.  We have started to go to play groups a bit more often; so he has a little bit of different entertainment.  Staying at home is not fun for me or him.
Today Susana looked into our eyes for the first time!!! She is getting big so quickly it's amazing.  It has taken her 2 weeks to start liking her bath time, she doesn't cry anymore.
I am sorry for those parents who are reading this and have had trouble sleeping when their kids were small, but to say the truth Susana sleeps over 7 hours straight at night.  She has her last feed around 7pm (until about 9pm as she is quite slow) and sleeps straight until 4 am!  We are very lucky with our sleeper babies!!!  Oliver woke up at 10h15 this morning!!!  He does this a lot in the week ends; as if he knows that we appreciate a little lye in.
He now goes to bed earlier too, at 7 -7.30pm he is already in bed.  We tell him it's time to go to sleep with Oscar (his rabbit) and off he goes to the room and doesn't even complain!
Well; there are a million things I could write here but I am a bit tired now, so I will write some more soon.
Lots of love and kisses to all

Oliver is going to be 1 year old in 3 days time!!  Time has just flown by very quickly!

He is crawling like a professional now, he did his first crawl in February when we visited his Opa John in the Canaries.  He stands up now and tries to crawl up my legs!  He pushes his toy around also, it's very amusing...

No sign of saying a first word yet, although it's been a while since he knows that Dadda means Daddy and he loooooves his Daddy!  It is quite an ungrateful task to be a mother!! hahahaha!  I think yesterday he said "tina" when I was showing him his fish Cristina, but I am not absolutely sure...

He eats everything now, loves home made food, but mummy is sometimes lazy and gives him the ready-made pots that he also likes.

Bath time is his favourite, specially if Dadda comes home early and has a bath with him, then it can last for an hour!

He does many other tricks but of course, I can't remember now that I am typing this report!!

Well, if you want to know more, just give us a call!

Kisses

Pat

Oliver is 5 months now.  He has started eating his first vegetables and fruits and he loooooves it.
His rythm has changed, he sleeps less and spends more time talking and observing everything.
He tries to sit up and pulls on our hand (or whatever he manages to grab) to try to straighten himself.
He hasn't figured out how to roll over yet...  his friends Summer and Noah who are a month younger, they can already roll over...  He is definately of the family!!  LAAAAZZYYY!!

21st of June

Oliver will be 2 months in 2 days.  We went to the doctor today and he had his first vaccine.  He didn't even cry and he even smiled at the doctor!

He weighs 5kg220 and measures 57cm.  He is growing normally and still breast feeding!

He has been smiling for over 3 weeks now, he is really cute!

Oliver is starting to understand that when he moves his legs up the little toys in his play yard move, so he waits for them to stop moving and then starts again!!  He has discovered his mouth, and always finds a good occasion to put his fingers in his mouth!

He still sleeps all night and even has record days where he wakes up at 8!  Specially in the week ends which suits us fine!

Oliver even goes with mummy to work now and he knows he has to be a good boy when mummy is at the villa.  He sleeps in the coumfy couch and when he is hungry he calls me!  Already a good working boy!  He even likes it when little Ilona sings him songs in Russian!

His grandma Babou is about to arrive for the summer and his Opa will also come to visit him in July!

Lots of kisses and love on the agenda!!!!!

The last visit to the doctor

On the 23rd of May Oliver weighed 4.5kg, almost 1kg more than at birth.  He measures already 55cm!

The doctor says that he is in good health and that he looks like a very calm baby, which he is!!

He sleeps all night from 9pm to 5am which is super cool!  I congratulate him every day for this!! hahaha

Next appointment is on the 21st of June and he will have his vaccination done!
