Hello From the Editor/Publisher!
Greetings and Welcome to the First Issue of The Pigeon Coop, news that's for the birds. We have scoured the four corners of the world to bring you the most unusual news we could find. Having failed in that task, since the world is round and has no corners, we had to settle on the articles herein.
My edition of
the American Heritage Dictionary defines "pigeon" as "1. Any of various
birds of the widely distributed family Columbidae, characteristically
having deep-chested bodies, small heads, and short
legs; especially
Columbia livia or any of its domesticated varieties. This species is
also called 'rock dove.' 2. Slang. One who is easily swindled; a dupe."
It defines "coop" as "1. An enclosure or cage, as for poultry or small
animals. 2. Slang. Any place of confinement." These definitions do not
really explain the theme, purpose or title of this magazine, but it
seemed more academic to include them than it was to say that the cover
photo was our main inspiration for this mess.
Well, now that
we have gotten that out of the way, I'll end now so that you can move
on and enjoy the articles. Please feel free to Email me with your comments.
'Nuff said, read on.
