Before...
Once upon a time, long ago, there lived a handsome young man, carefree and
careless. He found great pleasure in life, but was selfish about returning the favor.
To teach him a lesson, the gods sent to him a lovely young woman, Lena. Around
her neck, she wore a curious pendant. It reflected both her inner and outer beauty,
becoming a beacon he could not ignore. At long last, he had to concede that love
was worth pursuing. Having. Keeping. They had a long and fruitful life together,
blessed with many sons and daughters. Dacien was greatly saddened when Lena
passed away quietly in her sleep. He found the pendant tucked away in her
treasure coffer, after her burial. As he sat over her grave, pendant in hand, the
magick worked upon him. "Through this pendant I found my true love. So should it
be for others," he murmured.
"As you say, so it shall be. " Lena’s voice whispered around him, on the breeze.
The pendant grew warm in his hand— a distraction from what he thought he’d
heard. The two halves of the pendant slid over one another, remaining joined at the
top as it opened to reveal its secret: an inscription. He mouthed the words to
himself.
And thus began the Pendant’s journey through time, uniting lovers who might not
have found one another but for the mystical intervention of an elderly man and a
legendary pendant.
