Danielle and Kay Panabaker have booked many new projects for 2008 and 2009. Right now Kay is filming for a feature horror movie called "The Disembodied". She will play the female lead, Haley. She will appear on the CBS TV series "CSI Las Vegas" in the recurring role of Lindsay Willows on Thursday night, October 30th. Kay also has booked guest roles on the upcoming TV series "Lie to me" and "Mental". Finally, she will play Jenny in the 2009 remake of the 1980 hit movie "Fame"! That may turnout to be her biggest role yet. Danielle will play Jenna in the upcoming remake of the original Friday the 13th. She filmed for this horror classic this past Spring in Texas. The new Friday the 13th will be released on Friday night February 13th, 2009. I guarantee you this will be huge box office hit! Danielle also has the female lead roles in the 2009 movies "Prodigy" and "Renaissance girl". Just in she has booked a new feature film called "Weakness" where she will play Danielle. So 2009 sounds like an exciting year for the Panabaker girls.

Kay appeared at a concert featuring Hayden Panattiere and Band from TV in Fullerton, California.
Danielle appeared at the Producers and stars toast party in Beverly Hills, California.

Danielle talks about Mr. Brooks
Danielle Panabaker plays Kevin Costner’s daughter in Mr Brooks, a film she describes as a real twisted thriller. “Mr Brooks is the story of a man who’s really made himself, worked hard, created his own company. He’s a wonderful husband and worker and father by day, but by night he is a tormented serial killer. It’s this illness that he basically has and he’s struggling, during the course of the movie, to get rid of it. It’s really interesting. Demi Moore plays a cop who’s out to get him. Dane Cook plays a really interesting role in the movie.”
“I think all the different characters, and specifically the actors who created them, they’re all so compelling that it’s just so interesting to watch the whole thing,” said Panabaker. Everyone is extraordinarily talented and has such great, interesting characters.”
Kevin Costner’s face is probably not the first image that pops into your mind when you think ‘serial killer’ but Panabaker believes Costner completely captured the character. “He’s fantastic. There’s a certain intensity to Kevin and the way he works. You can see him thinking on camera and that’s why he’s such a wonderful movie star. You see all these thoughts going through his head and that’s why he’s so great.”
Panabaker definitely enjoyed working opposite Costner, noting the Oscar-winner was extremely professional on the set. “Kevin was wonderful to work with. He takes his craft so seriously and just does such an incredible job making movies. Rehearsals are so important and it’s really great to work with him.”
The two even managed a little father-daughter sort of bonding prior to shooting. “We actually shot the movie in Shreveport and I was out there almost two weeks before we started shooting and spent every day at the house they rented for him,” explained Panabaker. “Just rehearsing, but also getting to know him. He hung out. His house was right on the lake so we’d take the boat out for a spin. He has a dog; he has a Golden Lab named Wyatt and I love Wyatt because he’s awesome. (Laughing) I bonded with his dog as well.”
Panabaker’s currently busy balancing film with TV and that’s just the way she likes it. “Both are fun. They are completely different mediums,” said Panabaker. “I look forward to having more time, being able to get back into movies but working with Jimmy [Woods] on Shark is a lot of fun. We have great material there so it’s great.”

Shark moved to Sunday nights!
CBS has announced its new Fall TV schedule and as expected Shark will get a 2nd season! However, it will move to a new time slot, Sunday nights at 10 PM Eastern. Without a trace will move to Shark's current time slot on Thursday nights. So Danielle Panabaker, who plays Julie Stark, will have steady acting work after she graduates from UCLA next month.

Loughlin happy to work with Kay again
The following was written about Kay Panabaker starring with her former Summerland co-star Lori Loughlin in the upcoming movie "Moondance Alexander". This was in the Arizona National Ledger newspaper:
BACK TOGETHER AGAIN: "In Case of Emergency" regular Lori Loughlin says she jumped at the chance to reteam with her "Summerland" co-star Kay Panabaker in the upcoming indie film "Moondance Alexander." "I loved the script, and I loved that I would get to play her mother," says Loughlin, adding, "I knew that we already had great chemistry because we'd worked on the series together, and we had that bond. Also, I really liked that it was a film my kids could go see."
Loughlin says "Moondance Alexander" is based on a true story about a misfit young girl whose life is transformed after she finds a horse on her way home from school one day. She ends up working for the horse's owner, who's played by Don Johnson, and ultimately enters a jumping competition. "It's a really sweet underdog movie," says Loughlin. Do her character and Johnson's find a love connection as well? "No, Don kept joking that's going to happen in the sequel," she says with a laugh.
Read it and weep DVD - my review
I finally got the Read it and weep DVD in the mail today. The video and sound quality is excellent. I enjoyed watching the movie again as Jamie (Kay Panabaker) tries to deal with her sudden fame of having a bestselling book that actually was her personal journal. Danielle Panabaker also does a great job in her role as Jamie's alter ego, the super cool "Is". The DVD has 3 extras. First the 2 part DCOM extras which I had seen before on the Disney Channel but its good to have a DVD copy of them. Then the Jordan Pruitt video for "Outside looking in". I love the song but this video didn't have any scenes from the movie in it. Finally there is "the making of Read it and weep" which I had not seen. It is about 7 minutes of nice footage featuring interviews with Kay & Danielle and the rest of the cast. Definitely my favorite extra on the DVD. So if you are a fan of the Panabaker girls, I highly recommend you buy this DVD!
