| NEW ADDITIONS TO THE SITE |
I seem to have a knack for being in the right place at the right time when it comes to catching glimpses of old structures for a photo op just before they are torn down. Galveston's Sea Arama aquarium, and Copperfield Mc Donalds are to name but a few. Here are some of the pictures I've been taking in the past year. The next three links are photos of the corner lot at the Highway 6/ 529 Randall's. When Hollywood Video closed in 2007, the property owner removed the facade, revealing the old Daddy Did It Fish House logo on the awnings. Within a month, a new facade covered up the old signage once again. daddydidit001.jpg daddydidit002.jpg daddydidit003.jpg
I have also been quite fascinated by the goats of Bear Creek Park lately. I'm not sure why, but I've always liked the docile nature of goats, and there is a group of them kept in Bear Creek Park's miniature zoo, which has been in operation since before my time. Occasionally I will drop by during a weekday to summon them to the fence, and they enjoy being petted and scratched. Some of them seem to remember me. These are my three favorite ones.

| COPPERFIELD MCDONALD'S |
Just about everyone is aware that the Copperfield McDonald's restaurant, which opened in spring of 1986, was recently torn down to rebuild a newer McDonald's building. I didn't think the old one was so bad it had to be torn down, but apparently, McDonald's has a new theme for their restaurants, and wants all the old ones to follow suit. We used to recognize a McDonald's by the double-slanted rooftop and the outdoor kiddie playground, now we know them as being elongated, modern art themed restaurants with indoor playpens that nobody could break their skin on. I luckily managed to snap a few shots of the old restaurant before they tore it down. Again, this must have been divinely arranged considering I had my camera on me. This Fuddrucker's sits right next door to McDonald's, and it certainly hasn't been torn down, but I flet that since I had an opportunity while shooting the McDonald's, why not capture Fuddrucker's in it's heyday?
