Aerial photos of Middlegate Village in February 1984

I was fortunate enough to come across these aerials of Copperfield in 1984.  My dad used to fly recreationally using a Cessna 172.  Due to the amount of detail, the following four photos are better viewed from these links.

In this photo, you can see the intersection of Highway 6 and West Road on the left.  The Stop N Go parking lot was built, but all 3 other corners are still fields.  In the distance, you can see Highway 290 and the old Daniel Valve building.

In this photo, you can see the construction of Labay Jr. High in the upper right, along with the old Heritage Presbyterian Church chapel.

In this photo, you can see Middlegate Village, and at the top is the new Easton Commons development across Highway 6.

This photo is of Middlegate Village, taken above Easton Commons.  Highway 6 in clearly visible at the intersection of Forest Trails, where a Walgreens, Kwik Kar Lube, and Wolf Camera now operate.

I hope you have enjoyed this reflection on Copperfield's early days.  As I said before, anyone who has older photos depicting Copperfield, Highway 6, and it's businesses, are encouraged to E-mail me at mega_therion_7900@yahoo.com, (underscores between mega, therion, and 7900), or call 713-303-7651 if you have any information that might be of use on this website.  Thank you.
