They went to sleep many years ago... and they woke up with a brand new show!!!

MUNSTERS IN THE MOVIES

Over the years there have been many formats of the Munsters' that have appeared in film and television... here are some.

Theatrical trailers coming soon

MUNSTER, GO HOME (1966).

The first feature length film featuring the Munster family. It starred all of the original cast except for Debbie Watson who replaced Pat Priest as Marilyn.

The film followed the family as they traveled to England to pick up an inheritance left to Herman by his late Uncle. The Munster's must find out the secret of Munster hall and save the day!

Overall rating: 9/10.

THE MINI-MUNSTERS (1973)

The mini-munsters was a one off cartoon special by Universal Television and Fred Calvert Productions.

The animation was somewhat basic, however all characters from the show were to be featured. The storyline followed the family's discovery that their hearse runs on music instead of gasoline.

Al Lewis was the only original cast member to voice his cartoon counterpart on the special.

Overall rating: 4/10.

MUNSTERS REVENGE (1981)

A second attempt at a Munster "ressurection" featuring the original Herman, Lily and Grandpa, and this time a new Eddie and yet another new Marilyn (why oh why did they always re-cast her?).

In this TV movie Grandpa and Herman must work together to clear their names as they are framed for crimes they did not commit. Turns out that evil robots working for the dastardly Dr. Diablo are doing the crimes, and all clues lead to the local wax museum.

HERE COME THE MUNSTERS (1995)

In this made-for-TV movie special which aired Halloween night in 1995, the family learn that they are no longer welcome in Transylvania, so they move to America to stay with relatives. As the family arrive in Los Angeles they discover that Herman's sister is in a coma after her husband dissapeared.

A truly great outing for the Munsters, except for some continuity errors with the original series. Keep an eye peeled for cameo appearances by Yvonne De Carlo, Al Lewis, Butch Patrick, and Pat Priest.

Many thanks go to Todd for a copy of this film, and all the other Munster fans who answered my call to get my hands on a copy.

THE MUNSTERS SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS (1996)

The sequel to "Here Come The Munsters" features the Munster's nosey neighbour Edna who first appeared in the aforementioned film.

As the festive season approaches Mockingbird Heights, Eddie feels homesick for the old country. The family decide to cheer him up by having a good old fashioned Transylvanian Christmas - but one of Grandpa's spells goes wrong and threaten to ruin Christmas for everyone.

This excellent film features a cameo appearance by none other than Santa Claus himself! This is not just a festive favourite of mine but an all year round regular in my VCR! A great portrayal of Herman similar to Fred Gwynne by Edward Hermann.
