BIO: “Now, little Miss Cecelia Green, a little over sweet sixteen, but the cutest flapper that you’ve ever seen...” Jimmy Durante’s rendition of the song “Cecelia” could not describe the spunky, sassy girlfriend of Fidget The Bat any better.
Cecelia Acevado Green was born to Martino Green (a schoolteacher) & his wife Cicita (a band director) in
In 1895, when Cecelia was 14 years old, the little bat girl was playing soccer with her pals in the schoolyard, when suddenly, Cicita drove up in her car with the news that they would soon be moving away to London—Martino had gotten a new teaching job at Basil Of Baker Street High School. Cecelia was reluctant to leave, even spending her nights crying herself to sleep. Luckily, she was able to keep in touch with her old friends & get their mailing addresses before the Greens took the cruise that would send them to a new life...
Well, almost. It turns out the Greens had taken the wrong boat, & they had landed in
Later, the Green family finally made it to
Cecelia loved that watch so much! She took it with her everywhere she went, even putting it on her nightstand as she went to sleep. One day in August of 1897, during the Month Of Change, Cecelia went to the
Cecelia & her family spent the next year looking for the watch, but to no avail. Cecelia decided to take matters into her own webbed hands, & in the spring of 1898, she went to the Mouse Detective Agency to get some assistance in finding her watch. On the way there, however, she happened to bump into Fidget, who gave Cecelia her missing watch. (He had found it shortly after she had lost her precious trinket.)
Nowadays, Cecelia can be seen hanging around with Fidget (sometimes when she’s working as a secretary at the Mouse Detective Agency), who is now her boyfriend.
Always trying to be a good neighbor to other rodents, Cecelia Green is a sweet-natured young lady, much to the delight of her boyfriend & family. She is usually seen with a smile on her face & nothing but kind words coming out of her little mouth; genial & very friendly, Cecelia enjoys making pals & taking the time to shoot the breeze with her peers. The loquacious bat’s mouth runs a mile a minute when she talks; once she begins, it’s impossible to get her to stop!
Of course, the one thing Fidget loves most about Cecelia is her fun-loving nature & her desire to keep in touch with her inner child. When she’s caught in her spare time, she can often be found playing with toys & games, participating in a round of soccer, or reading comic books, despite her growing age. Not only does she enjoy partaking in such youthful activities, but she also likes to occupy her time painting, dancing, sketching, & writing stories, as well. (The talented young bat is also an excellent singer & percussionist, by the way.)
However, Cecelia isn’t just a kid at heart; she’s also a spunky young tomboy, never refusing to climb trees or wrestle with the nearest unsuspecting rodent. Of course, there’s a downside to this outspoken, adventurous aspect of her personality: while very polite & reserved among her peers (& known for having the gentlest of tempers), Cecelia can be an exploding volcano when she is ticked off, shouting Spanish curses & shaking her webbed fist at the next person who looks at her funny. Luckily, it takes quite a lot to get Cecelia upset, & she generally maintains a cheery disposition & the manners of a gentlelady.
Cecelia Green is a very good-natured bat, & may be approached without caution.
Cecelia Green has quite a creation story. Let’s say it all started when I started getting interested in GMD again, & was writing up stories for “The
