BIO: On the night of July 22, 1897, a strange mouse appeared at the Rat Trap Saloon, “looking for an old friend...[who] goes by the name of Ratigan”.  Of course, the mouse was Basil Of Baker Street incognito, but he was under the guise of his close friend, Captain James Brown, who has assisted him on many of his cases.

Captain Brown was born to John & Annie Brown, a sailor & barmaid (respectively), on March 19, 1866, under the deck of his father’s ship, The Golden Horn.  James absolutely loved the sea during his youth, & decided to fulfill his dream of becoming a buccaneer after graduating from Mouse London Naval Academy at the age of 22 (he stayed an extra year because he loved it so much!).  To this day, Captain Brown continues to sail the waters, both charted & uncharted, looking for adventure, bad pirats to defeat, & treasure.

Though he lusts for certain baubles, Captain Brown is as generous as a chaplain; in fact, he usually donates his findings to the mouseums in London, claiming that he merely seeks his treasures for fun.  This down-to-earth buccaneer seeks pleasure in the simple things he does each day, from steering his beloved ship to playing his flute.  Adventurous & plucky, Captain Brown is always eager to go on some sort of escapade, sometimes to the point of recklessness; however, he makes up for his foolhardiness with his soft heart & courteous behavior.

Captain James Brown is a most harmless mouse, & may be approached without caution.
