BIO: Ever since she was 5 years old, Ally Rochester has always shown an interest in science.  She graduated first in her scientific university, not to mention she has won many prestigious awards.  However, every scientist has her story...

Ally Rochester was born to Roger Rochester (a steel mill worker / jazz mousician) & his wife Maddie in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 23, 1878.  The youngest of three children (the others were her older siblings Princess & Jack), Ally was the most different from the rest of the family.  She would often draw into seclusion at random moments, didn’t care for being hugged or touched, & suffered meltdowns when she was under stress of some kind.  Upon being diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, Ally was treated differently from Princess & Jack...but in a positive way.  She was encouraged to interact with her siblings & peers, & was taught how to control her often-embarrassing tics & behavior via positive reinforcement.  By the age of 4, she was considered “cured”.

Well, mostly cured.  Ally soon acquired a “predominant interest” in science, one of her favorite subjects in school.  Often, as she grew up into a strong young girl, she would talk about biology & physics for hours, speak in technical terms, or conduct bizarre experiments in her makeshift lab.  It turned out that Ally not only had Asperger’s, but she was extremely intelligent—she always got straight A’s in her classes, a thing that Ally would grow to be proud of as she moved from elementary school to college in just 7 years...

After graduating from Minneapolis Mouse College with degrees in various forms of science (including Biology & Medical Examination), Ally moved on to fulfill her dream of becoming a scientist.  Her experiments & discoveries literally won her thousands of grand awards, including the Nobel Prize.  Ally’s life changed, however, when Princess, who had grown up to become a pop diva, decided to tour Europe in 1896.  Ally rejected the idea of moving (another characteristic of Asperger’s), but she soon adjusted as the Rochester Family made their way across Europe, then finally settled in London, where they still live today.

Often found working in her lab at Rochester Mansion, Ally is a dedicated scientist, devoting all possible hours to looking for fascinating discoveries & seeking to benefit the mouse world with her amazing innovations.  Unfortunately, however, Ally’s passion tends to get out of hand, usually endangering the family with her bizarre experiments.  Sometimes Ally will become a walking, talking experiment herself, speaking in jargon, taking notes of people’s behavior & even taste-sampling exotic flora & drugs.  Pushing aside emotions to make room for the one thing she loves most, Ally looks at things from an objective perspective & only feels passion when she is involved with her work.

However, Ally is not an unfeeling robot—when in the midst of company, she is as sweet & friendly a lass as you would meet on a May morning, except when her attitude changes to stubborn & hard-headed; she faces adversity with balled fists, demands that others respect the fruits of her labor, & will often pout when she does not get her way.  Though she is fond of children & loves her family dearly, Ally considers her career to be too important to give up in the place of a domestic lifestyle; it is this part of her personality that sets her at odds with her friendly rival Basil Of Baker Street.

Despite her faults, Ally is a very friendly mouse, & may be approached without caution.

While designing the character of Ally Rochester, I originally wanted her to look like Carmen Electra (pictured left)—but her appearance & character design eventually did not sit well with me.  I wasn’t satisfied with the way Ally looked & acted, so I decided to just change Ally’s physical appearance & make Carmen her voice actor.  Later, I decided to make Ally super-smart—sort of as a rival to Basil Of Baker Street.  Phoebe Heyerdahl (pictured middle), a character in the Nickelodeon show “Hey, Arnold!”, provided Ally’s very high intelligence, her tendency to speak in technical terms, & her new physical appearance.  I myself (pictured right) am also a character model for Ally because she, like me, has Asperger’s Syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism.
