BIO: The son of two respected Irish-German laborers & diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder at the age of 10, young Alex DeMaus is the antithesis to what his parents wanted him to be when he came of age.  This cold-hearted, callous cad is on Mouseland Yard’s “Most Wanted” list, constantly being sought after by the police.  Despising all things good & just, Alex is a teenage rebel without a cause, an adolescent rascal ever ready to cause trouble with a malicious smile on his face & a song in his heart.  While his reasons for his evil actions are quite simple (“I do what I do because I like to do it”), the consequences are devastating, even deadly—but, being the carefree mouse he is, Alex wouldn’t give a blast about the well-being of others if his life depended on it.

With the mannerisms of a devilish debonair & the suave charms of a ravishing rogue, Alex masks his evil nature with a sense of refinery, good taste, & plenty of posh & pomp.  While he enjoys reading dirty novels in the quiet of his bedroom & collects plenty of nasty pop art, he is a huge fan of Beethoven to the point of obsession, constantly listening to the music of Ludwig Van (as Alex affectionately dubs him) & reading as much information about his beloved composer as he can.  When he’s not speaking in the secret teen code of Nadsat, Alex peppers his phrases with the Queen’s English; he carries himself with the dignity of a noble leader & the artistic pride of a cosmopolitan.

However, beneath the mask of gentility, Alex DeMaus is a cruel tyrant, sparing none of his victims any mercy, giving orders to his cronies (or “droogs”), & beating them (or sometimes worse) when his commands are not followed.  He controls everyone he encounters with an iron fist, ready to crush his enemies & victims at the blink of an eye.

Alex DeMaus is a most dangerous rodent, & must be avoided at all costs.  Who knows what that boy is capable of?  (gulp)

What was the inspiration for this character, you’re probably asking?  Why, none other than Alex DeLarge, of course!  (He’s in the picture on the left, BTW.)  Our favorite teen rogue was the main model for his rodential counterpart in all ways imaginable—from his love of Beethoven, to his physical appearance & dress style, to his “delightfully wicked” personality.  Alex’s actor Malcolm McDowell (pictured right) provided Alex DeMaus’ voice, as well as his charming looks.
