Spring update 2006
The folks at Mind Riot have been continuing to polish off some new material. We still have some older stuff, but we think our fans will enjoy some of the new stuff just as much. We all have been rather busy and fighting illness lately, but should be back up to full speed shortly. More CD's will be produced, as we have now a back order on them. The CD sleeves are what we need to produce more of.
We have lots o' exciting news to report.
1st, we would like to announce that have added the shredding lead guitar of Ryan Hix. He has brought a killer new dimension to the group, is a real easy going guy and has fit right in like he has always supposed to have been there, it's kinda weird almost how well he has worked out! He has been a sponge in learning the original material as well as the covers that we do. We are very stoked to have him and look forward to exploring the many new doors that have been opened up. Please make him feel welcome at our shows. He will need all the kindness he can get because we have been hazing him like crazy! Poor guy has to carry all the gear, pay all the bar tabs, and buy all the food but we figure it all will even out soon!!
We also have some new photos that will be posted on the site in the near future. They are black and white pics of us trying to look cool!
And finally we would like to say a MASSIVELY HUGE GARGANTUAN THANK YOU to all of you folks who made it out to the Battle of the Bands!!! You guys were unbelievable in pumping us up so we could deliver the rock! Especially you T-shirt makin' MoFo's! On Friday night we nearly doubled the amount of votes that the second place band got!! And on Saturday we had a ton of votes as well but not enough I guess. We are super appreciative to those who came one or those savages who made it to both nights, you guys friggin' rule!! Although the outcome might not have been what we wanted we feel like the experience has brought us up a few notches and really made us a tighter more accomplished band. Plus as a "runner up prize" we got a $100 gift certificate to the Peace Pipe, so that is not bad at all!
We have just booked a show at the new place on Mendocino Ave that was Acapulco restaurant. It is called 505, which I believe is the address. It is very nice and they have pool tables, great food, live music, a killer location and 50 beers on tap!! We are bros. with the owner and he wants to help us out so lets show him what a good Mind Riot crowd is all about!
Anyways, thats all for now and for more mind melting rock, check the calendar below if you dare.
