Episode 16

This one starts out with Kronos standing in front of the abandoned mansion from episode 3.  He easily melts off the lock and enters.  He walks through the house looking quite pleased with himself, especially when he comes upon the room where Dr. Mandel was killed.  Kronos enters it, and sees a large bloodstain. Placing his hands over it, he concentrates hard, emitting an eerie green glow from his hands (Note: Most of the time when we see ether energy, it’s blue.  Must be because Kronos is an evil bastard).  We hear the death scream of Dr. Mandel, and a spirit form of him appears over the stain.  (Kronos) “You’re going to answer some questions for me.”

Cut to Title Card— Episode 16:  The Darkness Emerges

When we return, G is back in school talking to Dave.  Dave is grilling him about the supposed “vacation” that  he was on with Mina (Basically the past 3-4 episodes).  He responds by saying (G) “Oh yeah, good times.  Here’s some pictures.”  The pictures he hands Dave are shots of the various battles G and the ARK engaged in over the course of the time spent at the Lost City.  Dave is quite upset, as he was hoping that G really had run off with Mina.  At that moment, Mina comes rushing in with a look of horror on her face, exclaiming that G is needed at HQ right away.  We then cut to the AWESOME conference room, where up on the big display, is Kronos.  He has a message for them: (Kronos) “Hello G.  Just wanted to let you know,  I am going to kill you.  And while I’m at it, I’m going annhiliate your planet as well.  Have a nice day.”  The Professor turns to him and says, (Professor) “You know G, I can’t really back this up at all, but I don’t think he likes you very much.” (g) “You think?”  Back at the SHION base, Kronos is looking very pleased with himself in his lab.  The Master is with him, and inquires what his next plan of action will be.  Kronos explains that he extracted some information from the late Dr. Mandel regarding the construction of a new ether drive for Monlith.  He has also created a list of materials and equipment required to complete his new project, the “Terra Nova Plan”.  Most of them are heavily guarded and/or difficult to find, therefore Kronos is requesting the Master’s aid along with the remaining members of the Vigilante 7.  The Master asks if they will be enough, to which Kronos replies in the negative, but don’t worry he has a plan.  The Master agrees to help him as along as he fulfills his promise.  Kronos says that he hasn’t forgotten, and takes the Master into the next room where we see the Wiseman, thought dead, on a bed.  Kronos explains that he found him barely alive after his jump off the radio tower.  He brought the Wiseman back here and applied advanced Acronian cybernetics in order to reconstruct Wiseman’s body.  The Master is pleased by this, and asks what exactly Kronos needs.  Kronos smiles.  We don’t hear their conversation, but we do see Kronos walking down a darknened corridor to a door where Foster is standing guard.  Kronos orders him to stand aside and he responds.  Inside, Zunik is sitting in his chair looking at all his viewscreens.  He saw Kronos’ message to G and is not pleased by it.  He feels that publicly stating their intents was a terrible move and that it will greatly complicate the operation.  Kronos will hear nothing of it though, and he spins Zunik’s chair around looking at him with a menacing grin.  We then see their shadow’s on a wall and a blood curdling scream.  It is clear that Kronos has torn Zunik’s head clean off.  (Kronos) “OUR intents?  Don’t make me laugh.  You are and have always been a pawn.”  A week later at AWESOME HQ, G is walking around looking for Mina.  He stops though, when he sees Ami walking around.  G asks her what she’s doing out of confinement, and she explains that she has been employed by AWESOME to teach hand-to-hand combat techniques.  G then asks about her sister, and Ami explains that Yumi was hired by the CIA for the same purposes.  G then continues on his way to the conference room, and when he gets there, Campbell has some “Bad News.”  (Campbell) “Mina’s gone.  After Kronos declared his intent to kill you, it was no longer deemed safe for her to remain here.  Just thought you should know.”  G is obviously displeased, but he manages an “I understand, sir,” before turning and leaving.  Campbell stops him before he leaves and adds, (Campbell) “I’m sorry.”  G says nothing.

When we return, it’s one week later, and G is practicing his new hand to hand combat moves on a punching bag.  At first, he’s just beating the crap out of it, but then he starts to charge his fists and obliterates the bag.  Ami is displeased, and she tells him to stop doing that during training.  (G) Sorry about that, *punch*, but I seem to be having ‘anger issues’, *punch*, and this is how I, *KICK*, have been relieving them.  With that, he jumps back, creates a ball of ether energy in his hand, and wails it at the remains of the bag causing them to explode.  Ami is absolutely stunned as the sprinkler system in the training room goes off.  G then leaves saying (G) I feel better already.  Switch scenes to G walking down the street past an electronics store where he notices an interesting story on screen.  He sees that the Mandel mansion was broken into, but authorities can’t exactly say how it was done.  It was as if the lock was burned sheer through.  G knows what this means, and he contacts Campbell to inform him.  Campbell and the Professor are watching it even as G speaks, and they both know that Kronos means business.  Exactly what he needs to do to revive the MONOLITH is unclear, however, one thing is certain:  G is NOT going to let Kronos have his way.   Never has, never will.  Then, G senses a disturbance around him.  He projects a pinpoint ether shield in front of himself, and we see that it is slowing down and eventually disintegrating a bullet.  (G) “Not this again.”  He starts running and reports in to Campbell.  They immediately begin to try and locate the source of the bullets.  The Professor reports in quickly that the readings are exactly the same as when the Wiseman attacked him.  G says that that’s impossible as he saw the Wiseman fall from the radio tower himself.  Despite this, G heads towards the tower once again and dashes inside and up the stairs.  When he gets to the top, he sees the horrifying form of the cyborg Wiseman.  He appears to be in considerable pain as he turns towards G and raises his rifle.  (Wiseman) “No… run… Kronos… bomb… DON’T COME ANY CLOSER TO ME!”  G begins to back off.  Back at the SHION command center, Kronos is VERY upset about this and pushes a key sequence in on the side of the late Zunik’s chair.  Back at the tower, the Wiseman explodes like a bomb nearly sending G over the edge.  When G recovers, he is absolutely livid.  No one, and he means NO ONE should be used like that.  Especially after everything the Wiseman had been through (Note: None of them know why he wasn’t killed, but they do know the cybernetics were keeping him alive).  Kronos is watching this intently to see what will happen.  G is trying as hard as he possibly can to restrain his anger, but in the end is unsuccessful.  Kronos is greatly pleased as he hears G scream, and when we see G next his eyes are fille with blue light, and his appearance has reverted to that of Gaiden.  At this moment, Kronos types more commands into the chair, and assault mechs begin to materialize around the radio tower.  Crazy G gives them only a minor glance, and then he calls out “Deus ex Machina!”  His voice sounds strange though, as if Gaiden’s voice was trying to superimpose itself over G’s.  When the ARKANGEL arrives, G hops in and starts up the systems.  He then releases a catch hidden beneath the right hand panel in the cockpit.  Doing so prompts the computer to ask if he really wants to remove the power limiter on the ether flare.  Doing so may cause an overload when firing the flare.  G orders the computer to release all the safteys and charge the flare.  He charges it far beyond the normal tolerance level and sets the release to “shockwave.”  When it releases, the flare pulses outward creating a dome of Ether Energy over the area shutting down or destroying every other piece of technology in the area including the attacking robots.  When the dust clears, Campbell and the Professor are calling for G who is now unconscious on the floor of the cockpit.  We see that his appearance has returned to normal, just before we cut to…

Preview: (G) Yeah, so that was pretty weird, but I won right?  (Professor) Well yeah, but I wish you wouldn’t do that.  Scared me to death.  (Campbell) G, no time to take a break, we’ve got a job for you!  (G) Oh goody… this wouldn’t involve any sort of super-powered terrorists or soldiers of fortune would it?  (Campbell) Nonono, the CIA needs our help.  Their newest special operations member was captured on a top-secret infiltration mission, and they want you to get her back!  (G) I see,  well I guess that makes it the next episode, episode 17:  Ride of the Valkyrie!  (Campbell) Don’t miss it!

Episode 17

The episode begins with G facing off against Kronos on a rooftop.  G demands to know exactly what Kronos is planning to do.  Kronos replies that he’ll tell all, if, and only if, G can disarm him.  He then pulls out a sword similar to Gaiden’s and charges it.  A massive blade appears.  G charges his rapier, and Kronos rushes him.  Kronos takes one swing, and G blocks it.  The force from the blow, while not deadly to G, is deadly to his sword.  When the dust clears, G is on one knee examining his now shattered rapier.  Kronos just laughs and says G has a long way to go before the final showdown.  He then walks away leaving G shaking with rage, and we cut to…

Title Card: Episode 17—Ride of the Valkyrie

When we return, it is a week and a half later (Note: it’s been about 3 months now since the Lost City) and G is sitting in the conference room talking to Campbell.  Campbell is outlining a new mission for him.  The CIA’s newest supersoldier has gone missing while on a mission to one of their advanced weapons development facilities.  The job is to get her back and complete the original mission objective.  G inquires as to what the objective was, and Campbell reveals that it was to recover the facility from terrorist control.  3 weeks after its opening, the facility was overrun by SHION shock troopers aided by the knowledge of a mole within the base.  The soldier, “Valkyrie,” disappeared 45 minutes into the operation during a routine check-in.  Campbell points out that he’s quite happy AWESOME landed the job, as G will have a perfect opportunity to obtain information regarding the CIA’s knowledge of SHION plans.  The Professor then adds that it’s also a great opportunity to get pictures of the valkyrie because (Professor) “Yknow, the guys over at the CIA say she’s pretty hot.”  G and Campbell shoot him a venomous glare.  G accepts the job, and has one additional request: he’d like to have the sword that was in the pod when AWESOME found him.  Campbell denies any such occurrence until G reminds him that he saw EVERYTHING at the Lost City.  Campbell tells G to take a look at the AWESOME crest hanging above the doorway.  G sees that the sword used in the sculpture is Gaiden’s sword, and calls it down to him by ether manipulation.  We then see him in the training room again with Ami.  She tells him it was a bummer about his sword breaking during his brief fight with Kronos, but she and the Professor have made him a new one which is guaranteed to withstand any amount of damage while charged.  She gives it to G, and  he charges it and swings it around a bit.  G is pleased, but he says he has an even better sword now.  He takes Gaiden’s sword and swings it around a bit noticing that it handles just like his previous ether blades.  Ami reminds him that when he charges a blade, it’s mass increases significantly.  (G) “I know that!”  He holds the sword up and charges it.  When charged, the sword becomes a LOT larger than it was previously (Note: It’s very similar to Kronos’ sword from the beginning of the episode, except not curved).  G is pleased until the added weight drags his hand down.  When the sword hits the ground it releases a shockwave which destroys a wall and sets a small fire, once again setting off the sprinklers. (Ami) “Power overwhelming.” (G) “Indeed.  A bit heavy, but nothing some solid training won’t overcome.”  Ami feels as though G has totally missed the point, and she asks him to leave the sword alone until he can use it properly.  We then cut to the middle of a jungle where we see a heavily guarded facility with a barbed wire fence in front.  There are numerous guards in front of the gate, and the camera pans back from them to reveal G some distance away looking at the setup through binoculars.  He isn’t particularly pleased with the total lack of gaps in gate security, so he calls up Campbell and tells him this.  Campbell suggests that G find a spot on the fence where there are no guards, and cut through with the ether blade.  (G) “No really?  I sincerely doubt that an experienced field operative such as myself would have EVER figured that out.”  We then see G do exactly what Campbell had suggested.  We then see a window with some boxes next to it with some tall grass all around.  G pops out of the grass and climbs up the boxes through the window.  On the other side, G drops down into some more boxes on the top floor of a hangar bay.  He calls up the Professor and asks for directions to the detention area.  The Professor tells him, and once again G is on his way.  First, though, he notices what is in the hangar.  It’s a very slim, humanoid-type Giant Robot with lots of cables coming out of it.  G makes sure to snap a couple pictures of that to send back to base before he proceeds to the detention area, knocking out a few guards along the way.  He cuts into the cell with his blade and there before him is the Valkyrie, in all her masked, short-skirted, chained to the wall glory.  (G) Yowza.  (Valk.) “Could you stop gawking long enough to get me down from here?”

EYECATCH

We pick up again right where we left off with “Could you stop gawking long enough to get me down from here.”  G starts to say yes, but thinks about what Campbell would say to him if he just let her go without getting information out of her first.  He fears the prospects so he projects the image of a normal non-descript wall where he cut in and tells the Valkyrie he has a few questions.  She tells him that normally she doesn’t do interviews, but he’s cute so she’ll make an exception. (G) “Flattery won’t get you down from there any faster.”  Valk reveals to G that Kronos is planning to unleash something called the “Terra Nova” project on the world.  The CIA suspects that it’s some sort of weapon, as a communication was intercepted outlining his needs for the project.  Among them were numerous supplies for the construction and repair of mechs, a large quantity of a rare radioactive compound, and an absurd amound of ether energy.  G knows that Kronos can pretty easily lay his hands on the repair materials, but the compound and ether energy would be a problem.  The Valkyrie also tells G that the CIA is planning to set up an operation to take possession of the compound and that he’s welcome to come along if he likes. (G) “Sounds like fun.”  What G can’t understand, however, is how Kronos can “get” ether energy.  Ether energy flows freely through everyone and everything.  As such, there is a fixed quantity in existence that, like energy, cannot be created or destroyed only manipulated.  G is unaware of any way to gather or contain ether energy in anything other than the object or being whom it belongs to.  While saying this, G forms a ball of ether in his hand and shapes it into a couple of throwing knives which he tosses at the Valkyrie’s chains, freeing her. (G) “As soon as I stop concentrating, those knives will be gone…”  G drops the barrier that he had placed over the door, and the two walk out of the room… and straight into a gaggle of guards. (G) “You know what…”  G draws his sword and the Valkyrie pulls out two pistols (Note: With style!).  Total chaos ensues.  The guards open fire, but G jumps in front and deflects all the bullets with his blade (Note: This is his standard rapier, not the big ass Gaiden sword).  The Valkyrie takes this opportunity to drop beneath G and shoot most of the guards from between his legs.  The guards quickly regroup, however, and block their passage out.  The leader of them demands an immediate surrender, and in response, G drops his rapier and then holds up Gaiden’s sword as if to drop it on the ground.  Instead, he charges it up and lets his arm drop, once again causing a huge wave of power that cuts a hole straight through the guards.  The pair wastes no time getting the hell out of there.  They make it to the hangar bay, and then find that if they don’t somehow block the doorway, guards will swarm them again very soon.  The Valkyrie has the solution, however.  She draws the larger, golden gun from her back and pulls a glass bullet from her belt.  She appears to concentrate on the bullet very hard, and the wings on her helmet begin to glow.  The bullet fills with a blue substance that G knows to be ether energy.  She loads the bullet into her gun, and fires at a portion of the ceiling that is holding a big metal crate up.  There is a massive explosion that sends the crate hurtling to the ground where it blocks the passage.  G is impressed, and he thinks to himself that he’s never seen a bullet capable of storing ether energy rather than being converted into its ether equivalent.  Valkyrie then tells G to get in the robot stored in the hangar bay.  (Valk) “She’s mine.  Her name is Slepnir. Cute isn’t she?”  They get in, and the Valkyrie flicks some switches.  Some wires fly out and connect to her helmet, and then the robot starts up.  She slices through the wall with the robot’s sword, but when they step out of the hangar they find a platoon of robots waiting for them.  The Valkyrie just smiles and hits another button on Slepnir’s controls.  We then see the Slepnir move at lightning fast speed around each robot slicing it to ribbons.  (Valk) “Now to finish the job.” She turns towards the facility and declares that she’s charging the ether flare.  Emmitters are revealed all over the robot, and they charge up and fire at the building, leveling it.  We then see Slepnir shoot into the air transporting the pair back home.  On the way back, G notices that the Valkyrie is looking very tired and gets worried.  He also figures that she can’t naturally manipulate ether, and that her suit seems to be the key to her doing it.  G places his hand with hers on the left control and supplies enough ether energy to take the strain off of her.  They fly off into the sunset and we cut to…

Preview: (G) Alright, so that went pretty well I’d say, but the fight has just begun! Kronos is out to get his hands on the incredibly rare substance known as the E-stone, which is known to react strongly to ether energy!  To stop him, we’ll have to face off against an enemy who’s penchant for destruction is rivaled only by his hatred for me!  It’s the next episode, Episode 18: The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend!  Don’t miss it!

Episode 18

We start with G talking to Campbell about the operation the Valkyrie had told him about in the previous episode.  (G) “Can I go?  Huh?  Can I can I can i?” (Campbell) “No.”

Title Card—Episode 18: The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend

Hearing this, G nearly collapses from shock and begins whining at Campbell and calling him names.  After a short time, he calms down and asks why he can’t go.  Campbell explains that the President needs a guard for the day as he’s going to be on a trip to an important developer of ether technology.  G isn’t happy, but realizes that at least he’ll be going somewhere interesting where he could learn a bit more about how Kronos plans to actually gather and contain ether energy.  What he fails to take into account, is that the person he’s guarding is one of the most annoying individuals in existence.  As we see them ascending in the elevator to the upper levels of the building, the President informs him no less than 6 times of his undying affection for the crazy machinations of that “mullet-wearing genius” MacGuyver.  G is less than amused, but when the elevator opens into the research space of the E Corporation, he suddenly becomes a lot more interested.  A man greets them and asks them to follow along to the company president’s office.  G is a lot more impressed with the machines and weapons he sees around him than anything else though, and he notes that most of them seem to be created or coated with a golden material similar to that of the Valkyrie’s gun and bullets.  The guide informs him that this material is the E-Stone, and President Klein tells him that that substance is the reason for his visit as large quantities will be required to equip all his special agents.  When they reach the office, the enter and are greeted by the company’s president, Samuel Braveheart.  The President is eager to get down to business, and Braveheart agrees.  While the two begin their discussion, G goes over to the window and looks outside where he sees a small battalion of mecha including the Slepnir.  G flashes back to the previous episode where he first encountered the Slepnir, and asks the President what it’s doing here.  He replies that this is the location of the largest known supply of E-Stone, and also the current residence of the new Ether Potential Generator, or EPG.  Braveheart explains that he is interested in selling this device to the government to aid in their new project to create ether super-soldiers.  He also explains that the device infuses a human being with E-Stone, and as such allows them to gather and contain ether energy around themselves and use it as if they had trained for years as an ether adept (like the Vigilante 7).  G begins to understand that the E-Stone must have some special property that causes ether energy to attract and manifest around it.  This starts to give him an idea of what Kronos might be planning to do, but he has no real specifics yet.  At this time, the Valkyrie enters the room and pronounces (Valk.) “dah.. Sir!  We’re picking up 5 mechs approaching our location at 50mph.  The President orders her to send all but 3 of the squadron ahead to intercept the other mechs.  Slepnir and the remaining 3 will stay back and “play safety” to the locale.  She then inquires about what G will be doing, and the President responds that he has no mech to pilot, and as such will remain at his bodyguard duties until further notice.  The Valkyrie seems noticeable disappointed, but accepts the decision and departs.  We then cut outside to where 7 mechs are advancing to create a chokepoint at the edge of the valley the enemy is crossing through.  We see inside one cockpit as the operator announce (Op.) “CIA Special Forces unit’s 1-4, 6, 9, and 10!  Engage combat mode… NOW!”

Eyecatch

When we return, it’s giant robot time, and we see the special forces mechs easily dispatch the standard SHION assault units.  The operator is reporting back his success to the President when suddenly his comm cuts out.  We hear noise from the other units who are screaming for help and damning the “Devil incarnate” for their misfortune.  We hear from one pilot before he dies that it looks like there’s some sort of android that they simply cannot stop.  We cut down to the Valkyrie who is waiting with the rest of her unit for the attacker to approach.  When the smoke clears, they see one person who appears to be a cyborg stomping out of the valley leaving fire in his path.  G is shocked to see that it appears to be the Burninator with cybernetic enhancements.  The Burninator announces that he’s here to kill G, and no one can stop him.  He proceeds to totally trash the Valkyrie’s support units before turning his attention on her.  She tries to shot him but he dodges and burns through the legs of Slepnir disabling it.  He then dashes into the complex and begins destroying stuff in his search for G and the E-Stone.  After a minute or so of rampant destruction, he finds what he’s looking for and begins attatching a device to it when G comes out to confront him.  (G) “You we’re looking for me?”  (Burninator) “That’s right, just give me a second to finish up here…”  G isn’t about to let him do that, but it’s too late.  The device placed on the E-Stone containment unit becomes active and Ether shifts the container away to Shion HQ (Presumably).  G draws his rapier and readies for battle.  Burninator wastes no time in dashing right up next to G and decking him good.  This single blow has G spitting blood as he gets up to try and fight back.  The Burninator announces that he’s waited a long time for this chance to avenge his previous humiliation at G’s hands (Flashback to the episode where that happened).  Now he’s a veritable Juggernaut who can’t be stopped.  He begins towards G again, and this time G advances to meet him with a slash from his rapier.  When the dust settles, the rapier is broken and the Burninator is undamaged much to G’s dismay.  The Burninator prepares for another strike, but at the last moment the Valkyrie rushes in and tells him to hold it.  She withdraws 5 ether bullets and charges them all, drawing an extreme amount of energy into herself to do so.  She is visibly weakened by this, but she proceeds to load and fire each bullet into the Burninator, each resulting in a direct hit.  As the last bullet hits, we see G running at the Burninator with lightning speed as he pulls out Gaiden’s sword and charges it.  He’s having trouble holding it steady, but manages to use his forward momentum to swing it like a golf club and take off the Burninator’s head (and destroy a lot of the lab in the process).  When the dust settles, the Valkyrie stumbles towards G and remarks about how great a team they are.  She then collapses to the floor.  The President runs over to see what has happened, and both he and G kneel down to see if she’s still alive.  In the final scene, we see her hooked up to some machines in the Professor’s lab.  He pronounces that she’s absorbed to much energy, and has ether poisoning.  Chances are, she’ll die within 24 hours.
